With all the post/discussions about the content in this game, especially the scope of the cap. Just wanted to add my outlook.
When an orchestra comes together for a concert, is it the musician the finishes playing first considered the best?
I just wanted to give that analogy to retrospect how people are treating the information released about the game.
So much time spent on contemplating what your going to do at the end of it.
How will you be able to even enjoy the moments up to that point?
Have a better overall experience, not a afterall one.
Not telling people they can't look forward to content and exciting news. Just stop making your final decision today about something that's months away.
We all want people to agree/see our opinions, let's just not grab our torches and pitch forks just yet.

A thing I've noticed is that few thread topics are about the game itself. I see all these threads complaining about nerfing/buffing stuff for crucible, beta progress, raid matchmaking, subclasses, weapon drops, armor, etcetera. These are things about the game, but not what the game is about. What about playing the game, and how it made you feel? When you played the first level, awoke as a guardian, and wondered at what had happened to Earth? Delving into a boss's lair and wondering if you were up to the challenge. I'm not too cool to admit I'm still curious about the Traveler. Maybe the Traveler will not be fully understood. I guess I'm old fashioned to still be marveled at the possible depth of this game, and how much there will be to see or explore. I could be naïve to think there is more to this than just a mindless shoot n' loot fest like Borderlands.

Did you come from the moon?

The Prize isn't the End-Game, but the Road Towards it. ;)

I agree. I will not rush with my first play through but my others will be merely for competitive play and to fill a role in my clan

You can brag about being the first surgeon to perform a complex procedure, that's impressive. Being first on a video game makes me think you have no life.

Edited by FUS10NxART: 8/2/2014 6:13:01 PMMany players dont give a shit about story, or about enjoyment from start to the end, they just want beat the game so fast as they can, so they can post in forum, "World First!".

Well what I've done in other games is rush to the final level and grind for decent gear then go back-track for collectibles, feats, challenges. They scale the mobs anyway so it won't be a walk in the park. But I hate orchestra -_- It's all about that Guitar Riff/Solo
-
I will just level at my own pace. I am sure I will reach the end faster than some and slower than others. I am in no rush to get to the end but I am also not going to dawdle.
-
Any game with endgame focus turns into a race. Armstrong didn't become the celebrity he is without coming in first, and that's what it will come down to. Everyone wants the best gear so they can sit in the Tower and have people gawk at them. It's vein I know but that's what it comes down to. If you think a person runs the same raid over and over until it becomes repitition, maxes out gear for that tier, all so they can run that instances with less difficulty you're wrong. It's all about the bragging rights.

The Great Journey!
-
Well, part of the beauty of Destiny is that you supposedly will never outlevel the monsters. So while I might rush ahead to get nice gear and bragging rights, I will always have the option of going back to old areas and explore them in depth, without feeling like a Terminator let loose in a petting zoo
-
I'm not rushing. Been there done that. Plus, I have a job so I can't play 12 hours a day or whatever people without jobs put in.
-
You sir, are a poet. Good post!
-
We rush to the "end game" because in any GOOD RPG, when you max your level your play experience has just begun. Destiny will be this way as well if it has any hope of being this long lasting game bungie hopes for.
-
No rushing here brother i have 3 characters to level up and play. I want the best guns and gear with those sweet perks. PVP is something i will play once in a blue moon. It's all about strikes, raids, and story missions.
-
Thanks for telling me how to play and enjoy my game. I was about to have fun wrong. Thanks for straightening me out so I can play your way and enjoy game better.
-
Lol they treat it like dark souls rush to last bosses to cut tails off for nearly best gear, they dont relise like in ff12 for example the true fun is in renewing mid game content not the endgame, a week arfter game lauches there will be posts saying too easy or we need more to do thats beacuase these people are A-B players they start game at a and just rush to endgame point B then get bored.
-
as long as i can get atleast 150 hours of playtime out of Destiny, ill be fine.
-
This is a loot game... The longevity of this game will be creating new character builds and doing the same loot runs over and over until your eyes bleed. Games that deliver this well are extremely addicting and that's what Bungie is aiming for.
-
Power level and farm gear. Theres always time for making a new character and paying attention to the story another time through.
-
I'm gunna replay it like 10 times and pay attention to detail after I rush through it the first time.
-
Savor the experience. It will taste better, last longer, and the end will be so much more satisfying.
