What if the number next to your name doesn't determine how much fun you have, how much stuff there is to do, or how many people buy the sequel? Maybe we should wait and play the game first before we decide that level grinding is going to be relevant to Destiny gameplay in the same way that it is in most other games. Or we could just make wild ass unfounded assumptions and ignore the fact that they already gave us an example of a play mode where level disparities are completely negated (the crucible) and people had a blast playing it.

  • Your absolutely right! We got a glimpse of the game at level 8 and I put 40 hours into the game. I wrote this to calm down the doubters of destiny. Giving them something to look forward too since ive been willing to hand Bungie my whole wallet since I got into the alpha. But I do believe the longevity of this game is a big thing to question. The game is amazing, what else can people complain most about except adding more content. But believe me I've had nothing but a blast playing destiny

I just don't think we have enough information yet to even ask a meaningful question about longevity. We haven't even seen most of the content yet, so... Six months after the game ships, then we'll be able to make at least an educated guess, (if we can see the player retention numbers.)
