Nobody can speak Latin, it's a dead language, hasn't been heard in a thousand years or so.

  • I guess it depends on what you mean. Certainly there are different pronunciations (classical and ecclesiastical) and there is debate about even those. So you might be right that no one speaks Latin exactly the way it was once spoken. But otherwise there are definitely people who speak Latin (even fluently), just as there are people who speak Elvish and Klingon (and those were never living in the first place). I'll admit though, when I speak Latin, I sound like a two-year-old (limited vocabulary and plenty of mistakes). We could also say that these dead languages are alive, insofar as they are still with us. For instance, your name, Lord Kronos. Kronos comes from the ancient Greek meaning "time." So you are Lord Time (cool name by the way). Of course, you could also be Lord Kairos another Greek word for time, but with a slightly different meaning. Kairos means the opportune time, or the right time, which might be perfect for a skilled sniper in the crucible. Lord Kairos would be the master of striking at just the right moment. Vivant linguae mortuae! (Long live dead languages!)

Perhaps I will change my name... Nah Kronos is my name. You make quite the excellent point sir. There is a thing called sounding it out. I suppose that's what some people do when speaking languages written in discernible lettering. Also, in the Uncharted games, Nathan Drake know how to say Sic Pervis Magna, greatness from small beginnings. I enjoy your intelligence, you and the other Gaurdian below should check out my clan. I'm recruiting for the full release. And add me on PSN.

  • I just joined a clan a few weeks ago. I feel bad quitting them so soon (I assume we can't belong to two clans), though not much is happening there. Will you have a focus (PvP/PvE) or just general? I'm probably going to go PvE most of the time.

  • General focus. Likely to do PvE mostly.

  • Great! I'll make the switch. I'll see what I can do to get some other members too. Incidentally, the clan page says there are four members, but only 1 clanmate. You may need to remind people that being a member and a clanmate are two different things. After becoming members they still have to request to join the clan (and I think you have to approve them).
