I tried playing destiny on a 21" screen through a scart connection to emulate what split screen multiplayer generally does to the user experience.
I did not like it.
Between me and my girlfriend, we just have multiple ps4s and multiple large TVs. For beta, we set everything up in the same room and it was great. For September, I imagine we'll do the same.
The only way I can think of to make that easier whilst maintaining the same user experience would be split screen on an ultra hd tv that's about 60"+.
The cheapest one of those I can find from a reputable source costs roughly the same as 4 ps4s, 4 32" led TVs and 4 copies of the standard version of Destiny...
In short, for my particular circumstances, no.

Thank you for your input! And I'm glad you put that last part in. Because those are personal reasons that you can handle. For those of us who can't afford to do the wonderful thing you have done with your girlfriend, it doesn't really matter how the game looks on a smaller screen. That is because, when we decide to play a game on splitscreen, we already know what we're getting into before we ever put the disc in the tray. We already know we're going to play on a smaller screen, with potentially downgraded graphics, and it's our decision, and one we are completely happy with making. I just think it's presumptuous of Bungie to say that everybody who splitscreens is in the same situation as someone like you, and prefers to play on separate screens. Heck, even if I had two xbox's and tv's and whatnot, I still would rather play together on one screen, because our apartment simply isn't big enough to house two gaming stations. Again, thank you for your input.
