"That’s why Bungie isn’t supporting matchmaking for them; the developers don’t want them to be played by disparate groups of strangers."
That's a quote from an interview today with IGN. I feel like this is going to backfire hard for Bungie. Locking substantial content because people might not have friends in their console? And with the no global/public chat in multiplayer, how are people supposed to make friends on Destiny? Some people play casually and aren't going to scour forums to find like minded players. All these systems are fighting against each other and it's going to turn a lot of people off.

We need it

Edited by DEZARATH: 7/30/2014 7:56:39 PMLook if the game sucks. It's just gotta last till No Man's Sky for me. I have no idea what you might want as you're next game. Me I'm outta here if PVE and Raids is impossible because Bungie made it so you can't make friends. Because right now you can't make friends. Not without taking a huge leap of faith and pressing on R3 and opening a channel to a mental case for all you know. I think Bungie made a mistake in not matchmaking Raids. Yes randoms are going to fail miserably. But you know what I played plenty of L4D and when things hit the fan those mics opened fast and I gained a lot friends from those games that started off with nobody talking. You might not get to the bottom of the Vault of Glass with five random guys, but you'll probably walk out with a new friend to add to your list, and before you know it you got a team ready to really hit the bottom of the last level.

a lot of mmo's are like this where you cant que up and just end up with random people. not saying im all for it, its just that im kinda use to it

I'm glad there's no matchmaking for raids. Makes it harder to complete because you have to find good players you enjoy playing with. Also, a PUG raid is no good.
-
But, they did this for strikes...

Man the games starting to be a little bad like no offline people internet goes down and I don't got 5 friends that play destiny at most I'll have 2. And I'm not going to ad random people I don't know

The full game might not be like the beta where you can only hear those within your fire team. Raids are at the end of the game too I think so it gives you plenty of time to make some friends during the actual storyline. The reason I believe they aren't supporting matchmaking is because they don't want you to play with random people that might not have a headset. They said raids are going to be really tough, would you trust a random person with that mission?

I am disappointed in this...first time ever that i felt something was unfair about the game...
-
Oh my god WHO CARES... During the beta I had almost 20-30 friends playing the beta at one time. Just make some more friends, use this community to do it if you need to.......

So far none of my friends have a PS4. So I will have to join a clan eventually in order to raid.

Ramdoms are more apt to quit mid raid, also who wants to play with randoms who have no mic and can't communicate and work as a team.

Exactly what I was thinking. I for myself have only 3-4 hardcore gaming friends who I can count on doing some raids, but we need at least 6 :(
