I think it's an economical move on Bungie, Activision, and Sony's part. Having people who really want co-op, can't just pick up a friend's controller, they need to use an entirely different Playstation or Xbox along with a second copy of Destiny, which of course costs money, which of course goes to Sony, Bungie, Activision, or Microsoft respectively. Currently, after having played the beta, nothing else compares. I would almost dish out that kind of money to play Destiny, have an entertainment system, and a platform for other games, not to mention playing with my friends be it Destiny, CoD, Battle Field, Forza, Fifa, or any others. Split screen wouldn't bother me, in fact i would like it in-game, but i can understand where the developers are coming from.

 • That's my main problem here. Their decision reeks of a business model, and they're pussyfooting around the issue by saying it's a design decision. A reasoning that's ridiculous and dumbfounded me. From any other game dev, okay sure, they don't understand splitscreeners. But Bungie? C'mooooooooon. Are you serious? Anyway, I am in the same boat. If I had the money, I would be vaguely considering buying a second system, but it would still be a longshot.
