I'll start by saying what a wonderful time i had exploring the world of Destiny. I've been gaming since 1989 and have been a avid FPS gamer since my first experience with Doom Pc. Like i stated in the title i've clocked 52+ hours with 3 different characters and became enamored with the quality of the world that is Destiny. To the Staff of Bungie from the little guy all the way to the top i say Thank you and keep up the wonderful work.Enough about me to the point i have a few concerns i'd like to address.
1) Unable to communicate with non fireteam members.
*This must be fixed saw somewhere it wasn't added due to the fact bungie didn't want people ruining others good time thats what mutes for. Communication between teams be it PvP or PvE in a FPS is VITAL. This is Issue #1 for any FPS veteran.*
2) Something else i noticed that really surprised me the fact that pistols used to be a secondary gun. Why was this changed just seems natural they would be secondary rather than primary.
3) Fireteams being held to 3 is unacceptable i have been a leader of a clan for 8 years now i have many friends. I can see having 3 for strikes but story, explore, etc. Should be at least 6-9 to a party this needs to be brought up at Bungie. And no 9v9 game mode hmm.
4) I seen somewhere Urk a Bungie Community Leader say he wanted the game to have legs. Im a Hardcore veteran FPS gamer. Who plays at least 5-7 hours a day myself and those like me is there really enough to keep me playing for a year or more. And please dont hold our hand during gameplay it must be challenging. Something games have lacked since the 90's a real Hardcore challenge.
5) A in game clan feature is also lacking it would be nice to have a downloadable app available on your system of choice. Or the app and clan features seamlessly built into the game.
6) Something i noticed playing the Competitive Mp was that hit detection needed a little work i would melee someone get the kill only to have them melee obviously after they took a lethal blow and take me out!?
** This is just what i could come up with at the moment please feel free to add anything that you think is a vital thing you saw needed changed or tweaked.I will edit as i go to add anything that comes as a concern.Bungie please take the advice of a Veteran FPS *** PSN: Jesse_James-574-
----> P.S - writing this on my Ps4 couldn't space it apart.

I agree, they need to add fire team chat that is an absolute must. I like 3 person fire teams though it feels nice just to have a small group to go out and kick ass with just me and my two friends. It really emphasizes the whole exploring thing.

A great post. These are issues that need to be addressed. The features you mentioned would add longevity to this game.

4 RepliesAgree! Why can't we talk to none party members?! Bungie you need to add PROXIMITY CHAT! It would change the game for the better :)

8 Replies#2 is wrong... Hand cannons are primary because there is no secondary weapon in destiny... Only SPECIAL weapons....
Oh and btw the hand cannon=/=a pistol
I think pistols are primary just because snipers are secondary.

1 Reply1. I believe chat in PvP would help, but I don't want any chat in the PvE world. With as much as people change and go there, muting everyone would be overly time consuming. 2. They aren't pistols, they're "hand cannons" maybe they and snipers should be swapped. 3. I agree 3 is a much too small team. 4. One word: Raids. 5. No comment. 6. The melee is an ability. Just as it's possible in real life for two people to simultaneously shoot one another, the same happens with the close range ability in Destiny.

Take a look at the ign first looks on you tube and the commentary 2old2play with DeeJ on twitch they give out lots of detailes and hints

Edited by DeclinedMercy: 8/1/2014 10:11:38 PM1) I think there should be a feature exclusive to the tower where if both you and another person hold x, you can communicate to each other if you are using microphones. For this, it should require only one person to hold x to leave the chat for obvious reasons. I believe this should be a 1 on 1 thing, so as to make it more personal and not clutter up the sound. As in, you can only be in chat with 1 person at a time, entering chat with another person removes you from chat with that person. I don't like to use mics generally once in a combat area, but I could see myself using one during matchmaking and maybe the Tower if the Tower chat system is gone well. 2) I think the hand cannons are primary weapons because they can be used in any type of combat. The secondary weapons are for special types of combat, like shotgun for close combat or sniper for distance. While I can see an argument for hand cannons being either primary or secondary weapons, I agree with Bungie's decision to make them primary. I thought I would hate the hand cannons in the Beta but I liked them quite a bit and they were useful in all combat situations my sniper rifle couldn't handle. 3) Raids will require 5 other friends to play, which should be well suited to you. For the rest of the time, just change up who you play with. 4) I agree that the gameplay should be challenging. I played missions where I was at a severe disadvantage in terms of levels and missions where I was on equal ground. The equal level missions were quick and 'meh', the ones where I challenged myself were intense and had more replay value. ***Posted a link at the top, feel free to join in and give input***

I agree fully on the non challenge aspect of gaming over the years there is just too many handouts. Especially for players who dinnt do much and was carried by their team yet they still get the same rewards. A way to stop that is maybe a after action report for raids/strikes showing just how well someone was doing be it damage to bosses overall kills and maybe even accuracy showing how much bullets shot, hit, and missed to give you some numbers to show how much you need to improve. Now with all this added you can fairly decide who really put there all into the fight and who din't do jack and give more to the players who worked there butts off. You can leave it to a 3 man fire team sure but 1st should get an extra loot drop at the end doesn't have to be a better loot drop but just to say hey you did good here's a little extra for your work. That would be nice so it could be like 1st gets 3 2nd gets 2 and 3rd gets 1 something along those lines

They say the raids are the challenge, all one of them. So much so that it justifies not having anyway to pug up and play outside of the forums and random invites. I also was entertained by the mmo rubber banding the enemies did. Run... run... gonna die... wait they turned around and went back to patroling... *snipe snipe*
-
The fact you can't communicate with randoms is odd, like if I really have a problem with someone being inappropriate, I'll mute them like I do in any other multiplayer game lol. In a game promoting playing with others, being a social experience, this is a HUGE barrier preventing potential random friendships to form during this game claiming to be very social oriented.

2 RepliesWait 52 hrs for each character meaning 156 hrs total or 52hrs total

Good Points. Bump.

6 RepliesProximity chat in Tower or any other hub would be downright ridiculous. I remember seeing a thread advocating for the implementation of a text-chat function, and I remember being shocked at all the negative responses. If the hub is supposed to function as a socialization center, then each player needs to have methods by which they can communicate with people around them. They may have questions that need asked/answered. Not everyone has a USB keyboard, and not everyone has a workable microphone. Therefore I say make both options available to all players, and have them be just that--options.
-
Three player squads also makes no sense to me, unless they're trying to encourage a squad comprised of each class. Aside from that, four-man squads have always made the most sense to me. The "buddy system" doesn't exactly work with a third wheel.
-
6 Replies9 players in story mode is ridiculous, they won't fit in any cut scene. They already sacrificed cinematics in favor of coop
-
3 RepliesAbout 2) We don't have secondaries in this game. We have Special weapons. As in "Specialized", for one role. Shotguns: Close range Fusion Rifles: Medium Range Sniper Rifles: Long Range. You can't just put a Pistol in that category.
-
yep been saying the same thing, 3 is just not acceptable. sure it make Bungie's job a lot easier to design levels, missions, and set difficulty with a smaller variable of between 1-3 players. But Explore doesnt have these restrictions, you should have at least 1-6 fireteam for Explore.
-
1 ReplyI agree with a lot of your points. But on the fire teams I think it's more realistic and it makes sense tactically for them to only be three man teams, you have one of each class in a team. However I think you should be able to link two fire teams together and play with 6 people, especially in the free roam. Also i like you're 9v9 mp idea. I think bigger battle would be awesome, considering the subclasses they're would be a pretty diverse mix on the field, it would be really fun. Lastly I'm thinking (hoping) that these legendary weapons will be much harder to get in game than they were in the beta. I can't be for sure now, but I'm about 90% positive all the legendary weapons you could get had the same exact damage, so I'm thinking they threw them in there as place holders for the actual weapons and made it easier to obtain them so you could wet you teeth a little and really want to get out there and find those weapons in the full game.

7 RepliesI'm not sure what everyone is thinking but I've explored with 4 man fire teams lol all I have to do is invite them....and strikes are 3 man teams....raids are 6 so be happy
