I honestly think you have the previous generation to blame for these things. Having to develop these games for out-dated systems seriously hinders the capabilities this game can have. Had they just made this next-gen only, this game would probably be massive. This is why last-gen just needs to die and people need to move on. I get that they want to develop things so people with last gen are satisfied. But it's holding next-gen games back that have to develop for out dated systems.

They had to make it for last gen too. There wasn't a question. There isn't a big enough player base on new gen yet for them to only put the game on one generation. The majority of their profits will come from last gen, and that's how they have to play their cards.

whilst there is some validity in your comment I couldn't help notice whilst playing GTA 5 last night that it looked gorgeous (in terms of environment, water and vistas) and that's really what I hoped for Destiny. I am still going ahead with my pre-order becasue ultimately it is great fun to play but I still hope and pray that the world is a little more expliorable than what I played in the Beta. Remaining hopeful but also grounded in setting my expectations too high.

last gen is still very capable and every new console gen starts slow. somehow somewhere people (assumed) that the beta was going to be the size of wow when bungie is well known for secrecy and misdirection among other things. I remember just last month we just really started getting real info so just breathe.
-
Yes, but are they as capable as next-gen? There's more than just looks and size that goes into next gen gaming. It's been said that having to develop for last gen also affects how smart the enemy ai is too.
-
I don't think that's the case. Did you play defiance it was huge. It had some problems but it ran well on the old systems. This is simpl the path Bungie has decided to go. I also think people are getting to caught up in map size. I played WOW from vanilla. And vanilla wow was HUGE so huge. to be honest to big lots and lots of useless space. They learned from that and every expansion although big was much smaller. I think Destiny is a good size from what we know. Of course there will be DLC that's part of modern gaming. I just hope that it's at a fair price like titan fall and not bs like cod or battle field.
-
There's more than just size that goes into next gen gaming, though. Defiance may have been huge. (Never played it). But next gen gaming is smarter and runs better and looks better. If this game was only next gen, I'm willing to bet we wouldn't be locked in at 30 frames per second. It would be 1080 p 60 frames per second.
-
I don't know about the frame rate changing. I do know it will be in 1080 at launch. 60 fps is had to do with a mmo period, because of how many things(other players, badies) will be on the screen at one time.
-
Bungie has said in interviews that the reason the frame rate is locked at 30 is to give a good experience on all of the consoles the game will be on. If it was purely next gen, it would be a higher frame rate.

Titanfall dlc a fair price? 3 maps for $10, thats a ripoff. I'm hoping each expansion has like 1 raid, 3ish strikes, and something like 10-12 story missions.
-
ummmm season pass was 24.00 that's 9 maps total. cods is almost 20.00 dollars a DLC, BF was 50.00 and broke the game with weapons that were uber that could only be had with DLC. lets not even get into all the micro transactions for those games
-
I guess I want more substance with my dlc than just maps. Borderlands 2 dlc were full of content for 10 dollars. I hope Destiny is the same for $20
