To those who don't know what this is, it's when you want one piece of gear your currently wearing to look like something you have in your inventory. For example I had Gwailer (it's spelled wrong) armor on my Titan and quiet frankly it didn't look as cool as the Firebreak armor, but the Gwailer was stronger so I'm forced to dismantle the firebreak armor. This is where Transmogging comes into play. I take the stats of my crappier look gear (Gwailer) and put them on my Firebreak. Therefore my Titan can look cooler and still have a good defense.
This can also be done with weapons. Hate the look of that new gun you have but love the stats? Take that cooler looking gun and give it the stats of the new gun.
I'm sure destiny doesn't have this but it would be great to add in future updates. If I misplaced the information let me know :). What do you guys think?

1 ReplyYeah, this will work well, however I say keep it to clothing and not weapons.

Edited by Spider Mew: 10/2/2014 10:47:01 PMI'm all for transmogging, it would broaden the customization in the game if you ask me. For a game that was said to have a wide variety of customization, there really isn't much there. No don't say "that's what the shaders are for" because shaders only work on certain armor pieces, for example Heart of the Praxis isn't affected by shaders, as far as I know, shaders cant work on most exotic armor pieces. Plus there's hardly any shaders that isn't a pain to get. I don't see why people are against transmogging, all it does it change the look of something, it gives the player no benefit except for looking the way they want to. I guess they want linear customization? or maybe they just don't care but either way, it would be nice to have such a feature in Destiny. I don't know about weapons but armor most definitely!

1 ReplyOr cut the examples and stuff and just ask for weapons + armor to be added to a vanity selection screen when dismantled. :) This would be a fair trade-off I think.

Yes would love this. I farmed to try and get cooler looking gear and was overjoyed when I managed to get a matching chest and leg piece.

I also thought this would be a good idea but I doubt it'd be coming any time soon if ever

I don't think it would work out in destiny. In a fast-paced FPS it might lead to some very unfair moments of gameplay due to some weapon's abilities.

But that defeats the purpose of rare loot. No one wants a Doctor Nope doing 75 DMG.

1 ReplyI like this idea, like in World Of Warcraft it has been done and it worked perfectly I am pretty sure it would be really awesome if it was added into the game.

8 RepliesThis is something I think the game should have. If I remember correctly bungie said something about unique characters but if we all look the same because we have the same armor ( which happened towards the end of the beta) . I think transmog would fix this.

1 ReplyI think that's what Armour Shaders are for.

2 RepliesI certainly hope not.
