Tower Suggestions for Improvements

So while at the tower, I took note of a few things that I believe can be improved on in no particular order. Also, I'm posting this here because my other post just sank down into the abyss of forgotten dreams and I'm hoping more attention can be took note of here. So here are little slivers of what I think could make the Tower a more enjoyable place. 1. Perhaps you guys could polish the animations when walking about in the tower. It's alright, nothing that bothers me, but perhaps it can be more fluid, and swift. A great example of this is Watch Dogs. When you play as Aiden Pierce, his body is well animated. The turns, slides and sprints all transition well into each other, and it adds to an immersive experience. I'm not saying that the animations are bad, because they're far from it, but they feel choppy and abrupt. Perhaps you guys could polish. This can also include little quirks like seperate animations when running down stairs and such. 2. Many other people have noted this, but I feel as if we should be able to communicate with citizens and vendors through dialogue options. This is because it adds a great opportunity to learn bits about the universe of Destiny. After all, we're dead, and as our Ghost said, "You're going to see a lot of things that you won't understand." For vendors, perhaps we could even get to know them, so we see them more as people rather than glamourfied dispensers. 3. When I first heard of the Tower, it was one of my most anticipated places in the game. Maybe it was just me, but I was significantly underwhelmed. When we found out about vendors, I imagined a magnificent marketplace, full of shops, each with a variety of different products with their own unique styles and decorations, like a swordsmith's personal garnish to his own crafts. I would love to see many different cultures clash in one staggering sight, it would add so much color (figuratively) to the Tower. *Also, when I heard of factions, I imagined large, grand and elaborate halls representing each and every one of them with their own style of architecture. In terms of size, probably this would be alright, with the exception of a higher ceiling. 4. The plaza is tiny! And I don't even know if there is one, because it isn't even on the map! Also, there aren't many people in the Tower, it's about 10 people at max throughout, even during the iron banner, where people would be rushing in to Lord Sladin. Perhaps 30, even 40 on screen would be okay for next gen consoles (PS4/XB1), especially after seeing the sheer scale of NPCs in AC Unity. 5. A vast variety of recreation would be awesome in the Tower. It'd give players more things to do after returning from missions rather than just turning in engrams and storing items. Perhaps an elevator or staircase can bring guardians into an indoor racing track, where they can test out and race with their sparrows, or a shooting range where you can test out your new sweet weapons without having to clamber onto a seperate activity. Some people even mentioned restaurants where they can eat snacks just because they can. It might have been me, and that I was expecting a bit to much. *I know this is a lot to ask for, especially less than two months from release; but could you perhaps consider this in the future, Bungie? Thanks to anybody who took their time to read this. *EDITS are marked by these (*)

  • They need a high level area, maybe like a seperate floor where only the most experienced guardians can access the towers finest armory or high risk missions. I think that would be neat. I mean they might have that haha, I'm only level 8 after all

    • I really like the idea if faction halls, that would be awesome. Imagine walking through a doorway into a huge, impressive room. That would be great.

My ideas... -Add a bartender to the little bar under the shipwright. That would kinda be cool. -Bragging. There needs to be ways to actually show off the amazing gear you have obtained throughout your adventures. Like a shooting range to show off to everyone how amazing your guns are. Or maybe a small racetrack to prove you have the fastest, or most agile sparrow out there. -Areas to interact and have fun with other Guardians. Like a Soccer (football for you Brits) field. (Got the idea from the ball currently in the tower) -An armorer! A vendor designated to supply just armor. There's a gunsmith, why not this? -I agree 100% on everything you said.

      • What I would like to see (if people wouldn't run around shouting) is when you get close enough to another player in exploration, you could chat. It would make it easier to put together a fire-team if you knew what the other players were trying to do before you invited them.

        • MMO's always have expansions that add large features like these. If Destiny is aiming to be that FPS semi-MMO, then additions like these should be on their radar for the future

        • I think they're hiding a lot from us, when iron banner was open you could see a door opposite that was letting light through, either Bungie had just made an error or it actually led to another part of the tower, personally I think there is more than meets the eye

        • Shoot range in the tower, or place to test our powers would have been a great thing for the tower. So many wasted nova blasts before i figured out how to arch them correctly for good distance.

        • What annoyed me the most about the tower was the fact when it was full and my friends couldn't join in on the same tower even though we were in a fire team.

The purpose of games similar to RPG'S is the ability to play as if it where reality and lose yourselves in the vast world. I know bungie will deliver a game that will change the industry. But those small additions, all of which you mentioned, will only deepen our bond with our guardians and our love for the game.

        • I think that they should defiantly add more as it does feel empty for the space. There should be more npc's around. I get that it is post apocalyptic but that would mean there would be more than normal amount of people there as everyone would flood their being the last safe place on earth and all. On another note I like that the three main areas of the tower are separated where each area does there own specialities. But the way it is split up is to far apart. If you want to go to the speaker and than the ship write you are in for a wait. But that was just the beta. Perhaps there is more that we didn't see added to the full game. But the traveling will still be an issue. And give us our movement abilities in the tower.

          • I was thinking: For gamechat in order to talk and listen to your friends or random people you'd have to be close to them. And if you're trying to find them since the tower is pretty big you could send a voice message in game like you would in the Halo 3 gamechat. Is it a good idea?

I agree they said it would be this wonderful place but I just buy and decrypt stuff. Why can't you sell weapons and armour as well . It's weird. I just jump and dance all around the place. There needs to be more activities to do.

its meant to be post apocolyptic, not really a full on prospering tower for VIP's i agree with number 1 and maybe number 2 number 5 is a long shot but maybe, dont really agree with 3 or 4, though i do feel the tower is a little empty, add some NPC guardians walking around.
