What is sensitivity?

Sorry I must have taken a wrong turn, I was looking for the bathroom..

So I know there are plenty of us out there that love to have our heads on a swivel when playing a FPS, and frankly, Destiny is way too slow in my opinion. I want to see how many other quick snap-to-target gunners out there that the level of sensitivity is making feel sluggish.

  • And out of curiosity was Halo's sensitivity this same level? I honestly didn't play it much so I wouldn't know.

    • I don't know I don't notice it much to be honest. Maybe I'm just weird but I never seem to have a problem adapting to different controller and sensitivity settings. Default setting seems just right to me.

      • I played COD for many years since MW2, playing Destiny of course changes a bit on how I play, but there is nothing wrong with this at all, it's all about adapting. I used to play Killzone 2 a few years ago and feel that Destiny has that similar weight I got used to in kz2. I feel that this gave me an advantage, so while playing pvp, I felt almost right at home on how to approach the game. I don't think Bungie needs to readjust anything in this particular subject, I feel COD players in general need to realize that this is not a light weight CODish game, but a new game that requires us to getting used to.

        • I guess this poll shows pretty much there are half as many twitch shooters as there are slow trackers. Which I think is important because you're talking about a third of the polled people.. And on a large scale that's huge.

If we are used to CoD and Battlefield as the Standard. What is missing from Halo is a slower ADS sensitivity. In Destiny if your Sensitivity is at 7, it is 7 when hip firing and ADS. Which can be very disorienting since it can be a bit difficult Aiming with a thumb stick at high sensitivities. And when you have a game where the weapons kill quickly and the maps are close quarters you will want to have a High Sensitivity. Or prepare to be Dead before you can turn to meet your opponent. (I use this to my benefit actually, I play as a Titan and Jump over peoples heads. Most people play on a low sensitivity and cant track me through the air. The Titan can Jump so fast and can clear more distance than some peoples sensitivities will allow them to follow.) It feels like Bungie is stuck with the Halo formula of 1 sensitivity. Which might not work for the much faster Destiny. What they could do is make the Hipfire much more accurate. So for close to mid-range fights you can get away with Hip firing like Halo. But if you wanted to go for precision, especially over distance, the ability to ADS with a lower sensitivity would be great.

              • My major problem is with how you can't adjust ADS sensitivity separately from hip aiming.

                • There is a deadzone between the thumbsticks not working and working and then there is the cursor speed, it moves slow at first then speeds up to the correct sensitivity

                  • The sensitivity is fine, I don't necessarily need a twitch-shooter. The deadzone should be reduced though and aim-assist turned off, without an on/off option.

                    • In total agreement. The aim acceleration is far too slow and clumsy. It's my no.1 issue with the game.

                    • I think its more delay than sensitivity. Bf4 responds very quickly when using sticks to aim. Maybe its the 60 to 30 framerate that I notice
