Why are people complaining about a limited edition being limited? It makes no sense. If Bungie/Activision were to give in to the demands to make more for everyone, it wouldn't be limited, thus not special. It's no ones fault but you're own if you didn't snag the edition that you wanted when they were available (they were already restocked several times). Go buy it off eBay or find one in a store at launch if it's that important to you.

Here's what I know: I don't care about whether or not a product is "limited". I care about owning a really cool product. And yes, it does kind of tick me off that, because I wasn't one of the lucky people who snagged it up during the initial hours following the announcement, I can no longer have that product (at least not without spending three times the price to someone other than Activision).
-
But if you were able too. you would have wished it was truly limited. Sorry you missed out

Edited by Darquelo: 7/30/2014 10:12:03 AMPeople are complaining cuz if bungie were smart and wanted to make a TON more money they would make more

I dont have much money, it took me 5 months to get enough to pre order the game. Im just happy I get the chance to play it.
-
It took you 5 months to get $5?

Except I preordered about 6 months ago when it first came out on pre order and find out now they have a limited edition after I already purchased my copy. fyi the limited edition wasn't available at the time I preordered. Now im not one complaining on here but think its a little crappy to have supported them for a long time to find out newer people are getting the better edition.
-
I kind of feel that way too.. it would have been nice if the existing preorders had the chance to upgrade first. I pre-ordered October 6, 2013. Oh well. I really did want that Ghost but I would never pay someone on ebay $300 for it.

We all follow Bungie and the weekly updates. They had been teasing the limited edition for weeks. They then told us before they went on sale. I don't spend hours on Bnet but I do read the mail sack. Those that didn't get the ghost edition were either to slow or unlucky.
-
I preordered it in October...i had it bought why check every week or day or month ......release date was in September .....that's all I knew. Now i said it stunk that i didn't get it. ill live. But here is the thing why didn't bungie send me an email saying they had a new edition...think that would have been helpful.
-
I also bought it on release date. Bungie said on Bnet and also let the game stores advertise it. What happened to me was that I asked the store (EB Games) I got my pre-order at to inform me when a limited edition was released. The question is now you missed out on this one, will you be more willing to follow up on another edition (if they makebone) or will be happy with what you have?
-
Amazon doesn't do that so that's #1. 2#i didn't keep up with it. The first time I used the forum was about 5 days ago. 3. I don't watch shows much to see advertisements. 4. Im sick so I don't get out much. Almost never get to ebgames. So yea ill stick with what I have- its preordered from amazon. I cannot un-preorder it after I used the beta keys. But yea would have been nice to get an email. But ill hope that ill be able to upgrade or something....but that ghost edition looked cool. So yea ill stick with what I have if I cannot get any better. Or they could have made the editions available when I ordered it. Would have bought it then. This stuff of coming up with new versions after you preorder is a little irritating.
-
um i didn't follow bungie weekly I had it bought why should I have worried about checking weekly. I knew the new release date.
-
Wouldn't you have been allowed to upgrade at the same store and just pay the difference? We do pre-orders differently in the UK. When we pre-order something, we don't pay outright for them. We only pay for them when they are due to be delivered / picked up from store. Online stores may vary but mostly this is how we do things.
-
I don't think Amazon would do that. They would have to cancel the previous and charged a new one. But they wouldn't do that. Not to mention after I had the preorder I didn't even look to see if there was another because I had already bought it. I found out later when all were talking about it being sold out. But no Amazon wouldn't have done it because it had special preorder beta access. So I cannot get the ghost edition.

i agree with you. its sad. i know people are upset that they didn't have enough time to get one themselves, me included, but it happens. if they just made more every time some one complained then it wouldn't truly be a limited edition. it would no longer be special. if you really want one that bad you can wait and get it on ebay or something but no one wants to wait. things don't always work out the way you want it too. so people need to grow up and take it with a grain of salt :/
-
Here's the thing, however.... Omarr says we should go buy it off E-bay and that's the exact problem! Sure, they're limited, but the problem is that people who don't actually want it are buying several copies and then just flogging them on E-bay for a profit. It's against the ideals of what making these limited editions is about. Buying up the editions and then selling them on at an increased price is just destroying the fact that these are supposed to be for genuine enthusiasts of the game who want something nice and special....not for people who want to rip other people off or for only those who have money to burn.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I'm selling my ghost edition for $10,000 USD if N E one is interested ......lmao
