Size of the game (with source)

All right guys, I have been waiting to post this, but last night DeeJ confirmed, that there will be 1 explorable location per planet and this basically also confirmed, that the following source is realible: http://destinydb.info/activities (edit: the creator of the website asked me to write that the info is from 30.June) I browsed this website a lot and realized how endgame content is going to work. To sum it up: Before you read on: this may or may not be how the final product is going to look like. It is just a speculation based on the website mentioned above. I do not want to convince you about anything, but I'm sure if you browse that site you will come to a similar conclusion. Beware, this may contain spoilers!!! - 4 explorable locations (Earth, Moon, Mars, Venus) - 6 strikes (1 Earth, 1 Moon, 2 Mars, 2 Venus. However one of the Mars strike is PS exclusive.) - 1 raid (The Vault of Glass) - 16 pvp maps It's already been told, that we are going to hit lvl 20 quickly. So what happens after this? We are going to have the possibility to run a random strike (accessible from the orbit) on a higher level: -lvl18 -lvl20 -lvl22 -lvl24 For example the Devil's Lair is going to be there on those difficulties. But how can you achieve a level over 20? It is well documented, that you can get to lvl 20 by collecting XP. In order to gain additional levels, you need to obtain gear with "light stat" . Light gives you additional level. So, what you are going to do, when you hit 20? You will go to lvl 20 strikes to get gear with light. I suspect, that the strikes and rewards will be scaled, so that you have to spend a lot of time on a level in order to get access to the next one. What happens, when you hit lvl 24 and finished farming all the high level strikes? You go to weekly strikes This means, that every week there is going to be a strike on an even higher level. -lvl24 -lvl26 -lvl28 For example Devil's Lair is going to be this strike from 09.sept. - 16.sept. And so on. This mode is called: Nightfall After you cleared all the weekly strikes you go to the Vault of Glass. It will be on lvl27, lvl31 and lvl31. EDIT_1: I also found something called "Activity Power" associated to every activity on that website. I think it's the true scale of difficulty of each activity. For example: lvl 8 - Devil's Lair = Activity Power 0,37 lvl 20 - Devil's Lair = Activity Power 8 lvl 24 - Devil's Lair = Activity Power 53 lvl 28 - Devil's Lair = Activity Power 98 lvl 31 - Vault of Glass = Activity Power 132 This will take time Guardians! EDIT_2: Meanwhile basically the same Information appeared on Destiny Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2bv20d/spoilers_this_is_what_we_can_reasonably_expect_at/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

  • Except that the Destiny Reddit says at the bottom " This is for the Beta and shouldn't be used as a basis of activity for the full game."

  • Now we know why they said the budget wasn't anywhere near $500 million. This is disgusting. Those dlcs better add entire new planets, strikes and crucible maps for 20$ a pop. I'm sure since it's activision they'll offer far less to keep the trend of charging 25% of a games initial cost for 5% additional content they set with cod. It's too bad the only other game coming out soon is diablo 3; ultimate ripoff edition, where they're charging 60$ for a 4 year old game and it's 20$ worth of dlc, also disproportionately priced, also published by activision. I suppose it could be worse, we could be dealing with EA.... At least activision games actually work.

http://destinydb.info/activities (no clue what is that) http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame (always the last one knowing the news) you got more of those retarded source ? A source is something from it point of origin. DERP! Not from something looking for free internet money by making shit up.

    • Even if the game only has 4 explore areas. It's got enough content and replayablity to be a Phantasy Star Online style game. That is all I want, HALO meets PSO which is exactly what this is! I'm glad there will be 4 games and plenty of expansions for this series! I wish SEGA would bring PSO2 to the west. It's been out 2 years and looks like it is never coming stateside!

      • I was hoping for mercury seeing as we have cut scenes from trailers of ships going there. Unless that's where the vault of Glass is.

        • The enemies will be higher level bullet sponges. You, on the other hand will be a level 20.

        • But on the map in the Beta, if you look at the planets.. Theres circles that outline the others. I see Earth, The Moon, and Crucible. There's a hexagon next to the crucible, what will this be? There's two LARGE circles on the map, probably for Venus and Mars.. but theres also a circle only halfway popping out on the top of the map.. what will this be? This is just speculation I guess, but maybe they'll add planets in updates or there's another planet that isn't mentioned on that site.

          • This actually looks pretty close to what I expected pre-expansion. I'm hoping you're right! This will allow the game to grow with its guardians and give us a structured progression through our fight against the darkness! Gear up, guardians!

            • I hope the info is not true but it probably is. Maybe Old Chicago, Mumbai Push and European Dead Zone for Earth is just concept art. But GUESS WHAT?! The site pretty much confirms Mercury to be an explorable location as it says it on the site. So at least now we have 5 pretty large locations that are each special in their own way for free roam.

His answer was very vague he didn't say that there was "one" explorable area per planet but he mentioned that they're calling the planets "destinations" and that they've already revealed all the "destinations" in the first version of the game which are "planets". So far we have Earth, Moon, Mars and Venus and they've also mentioned or have info on Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn and their Moons. We don't know how many or how big each area will even be. So I suggest for everyone to sit tight and wait until release.

                  • 6 strikes and 1 raid at launch is such a massive let down for me. De we know what they mean by difficulty? Are they just gonna increase everythings health? Basically making everything bullet sponges? Or are they going to throw us curve balls in the strikes? Like maybe there will be 2 Devil walkers or it shoots its cannon quicker, stuff like that? Bullet sponges would also be a huge letdown.

                    • "Activity Power"? Is Destiny some kind of Facebook mobile game or something? I hope this is a joke. I already paid my pre-order and because I live in the land of the free, I can't freaking cancel it (PSN won't refund). I loved Halo and I was very excited to play some version of it on my new PS4, but if these concepts are true, it will just kill any excitement I'll have for a Destiny Part II or future DLC.

                        • What I gather from every thing said in the comments and what not. This game is going to last ten plus years. There are going to be two more games, and those games will have the other areas. There is also going to be plenty of dlc to expand on this already great game.

                        • If this is true, on the exploration part, then Destiny is a MAJOR disappointment, shame on bungie for over hyping it.
