What Attack and Impact stats Mean

Hey guys, played the beta the last few days and it was awesome! Some things I was a tad confused about and was hoping some of you fine upstanding gentlemen/women could help me with. What does the Attack statistic mean? Is that how much damage the weapon does, or does it just act as the "level" of the weapon? Because you can find an assault rifle and a rocket launcher, both with the same attack stat. Also, Impact. Is THIS damage? Or is it maybe how much impact/knock back it causes on the target, like if it makes them flinch or not when shot? Maybe it affects how much damage gets through to enemies with armor or shields? Basically I was looking for an explanation of those two stats in relation to each other. Also, what does the Range mean? Do the rounds disappear after a certain distance? Or is it meant to represent the first shot accuracy of the weapon? Or do they have damage drop-off in the game, similar to Battlefield, where bullets start losing damage after a certain point? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Sincerely, an MMO newb. ps. Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, I posted it a moment ago, but I think I may have accidentally done so in a different forum/topic.

  • Atk and impact are kind of one and the same but they have variables. There was a nice post somewhere on testing the two and basically some guns will do better having impact and other atk. I believe that impact does have an effect on how much of ur damage goes through armor and atk is like a base stat. Range does affect damage by drop off but it's at pretty far distances (doubt someone wants to snipe a hand cannon) Some cases atk is valued more in others impact is That's the gist of it
