-1 nooo at first I figured why not? but i was reading someone elses ideas and how it would be like borderlands and you would just spread these super items around. then I started thinking about destiny and what bungie has mentioned about gear and how it represents you and where youve been. I think loot should not be shareable because everything you wear and use should be a reflection of your warrior and what they have done and where they have been.

  • You know all that shit you find which is too high or low a level for you but you've got that one friend who might want it, and you dont need it so obviously you are gonna wear it right ? You're gonna wear shit tier stuff right ? No, your not your gonna dismantle it for about 5 glimmer. Thats why we should be able to trade.

  • That's not a reason to trade at all. Did you not read his post. Your gear should be a reflection of YOU and YOUR accomplishment alone, not someone elses

  • But then you could argue that for any game which has a trading system ? Literally any, borderlands, runescape ect. So it's a pointless argument to make, a reason for a trading system ? Well why not have one ? What is the downside to it ? I mean trading systems are in lots of games and it doesn't really being down the enjoyment factor, just butt hurt people who think "oh his friend gave him that he must be lazy as -blam!-" doesn't really bother me either way but it's just a preference.

  • your right, a lot of games have trading systems but even in most of them (pc especially) some things are account bound. In diablo 3 you can trade/give away most anything, but for example the hellfire ring and its components are account bound you can't give/trade/drop them. in borderlands that's not really a huge issue because most loot is random, duping is messed up but what are you going to do? so I suppose I could support item trading but there would have to be a limit like all green items and lower. no exchange of legendaries/exotics or things that require rep or marks. I can agree with trading insomuch as reducing tediuosness (ie farming mat's) but special things that require special work should be special.

  • The loot in destiny is random, you get random loot at random times, unless it's specific missions (like borderlands) so there shouldn't be a problem, people should be able to trade, it's not gonna make the game less fun, it's not gonna hurt anybody, don't put a limit on it because you are already limited with class specific items (gear) so if you wanna trade gear, it's gonna have to be with another of your class, and also another reason for trading: it's so much better than dismantling a gun for 5+ glimmer, really you would rather have 5+ glimmer instead of giving it to someone who wants the weapon ? Nah I don't believe that. Trading would be a good thing in the game, allowing people to trade unwanted shit which they may have bought for 400+ glimmer for something someone else has of equal or better value instead of destroying it and only getting 5+ glimmer back.

  • Yeah but when you factor in the fact that this is a competitive game then that becomes an issue

  • This is not a competitive game. This game has a competitive portion to it. Not everyone cares about the crucible. I see how a trading system would be a problem for people who live and die by what their K/D is. How it would seem fair to you if someone didn't "earn" something you felt you "earned". However since this game is not just "my dick is bigger than your dick" the trading system could have its place in the other part of the game. This is why in my personal opinion the story portion and the crucible should be completely separate. Let the crucible have it's own set of rules that only applies to that area of the game and the characters made, used and leveled up there are only used there. Same exact rules apply for story mode. By the way, I fully welcome your replies of idiocy about how I must just suck because I don't like the crucible or some other level of childish response.

  • One of the main appeals of this game was to be able to take your exact same storyline character into the matchmaking. I'm in full support of that, I just don't want to go up against people who haven't earned the weapon or armor they're wearinh

For you maybe it was an appeal and also for many other people however there are tons of people playing this game and a lot of players commenting in this thread alone that never even tried the story mode other then to get through the very beginning. As with all games that have a multiplayer aspect to them they have their fan base that could careless that the game offers an entirely other side to other then multiplayer. There are people that will buy this game just like they bought all the COD and Halo games and never once touch the story portion of the game. In those games it was fine because one had nothing to do with the other. However with Destiny since you can bring your story character in to muti it does cause an issue for those type player. This is why again, in my opinion they should be separate just like in most other game that have a story and multiplayer.

  • Just because certain guys don't wanna touch the story doesn't mean you should arbitrarily segregate the ones who want to do both. Let the players decide which game mode they want to play and how they want to play it. It literally makes no sense to do that

  • Just in case there was miscommunication here. When I say separate I am referring to it just like they do in pretty much every other game out there today. I am saying do not let characters made in single transfer to Multi or visa versa. Since this thread is about a trade system there would be no issue if the two aspect of the game were separated. Take Dead Island for example. You can trade items with other players and it makes that game much better. Oddly enough that game had no multiplayer so no one ever complains about being able to trade with each other.

  • Again I don't want to them to be separate. Destiny doesn't have to be like other games

This is where we can agree to disagree and given the nature of this thread and the fact that people complaining about a trade system are really only complying because of multiplayer it's best this ends here.

  • Not unless it is a throw away item that you're gonna dismantle otherwise. Screw +5 glimmer, why not give it to a friend
