Hi Bungie Devs,
I don't have a screenshot or anything, but on multiple occasions last night in Forgotten Shores, there was a glitch with the Reaver Vandal that spawns with a single Shank partner near the path that leads to the Grotto (they're just to the right of the path).
Several times in the course of an hour he spawned with much higher stats than normal.
This included:
- Well over 20x his normal health value
(it took all of my ammo from a sniper rifle that did 800 a shot to him, along with 5 Rockets from a 51 attack launcher, and well over 400 rounds of Shingen-C doing 30-50 a pop).
- Much higher attack rating
(He was two-shotting me with individual pieces of shrapnel from his Shrapnel Launcher until I finally decided to kill him)
- He seemed much more accurate and aggressive than normal (rushing or standing and firing instead of how he would normally hide behind his rock)
Overall, this was TOTALLY AWESOME PLEASE KEEP IT. Occasional monstrously-powerful versions of normal Reavers in normal spawn points was incredibly fun, and my fireteam agreed.
The only thing missing from making it perfect would be an increased reward, like 100 Glimmer and some Rep (seriously, the times I soloed him took about 5 minutes or more each, so this isn't an unreasonable value). It could also be worthwhile to name them something unique.
Thanks for all your hard work on this game! You have created one hell of a masterpiece here.

That's Randal, he's always been there.
-
His called Randel the Vandel he is the strongest mob in the game.
-
Awesome. I've got to check this guy out!
-
Mate, you've met Randall the Vandal
-
Says a lot about a game when people get so excited about anything different or unexpected. I agree with the OP. We need more of this and you really should be doing it on purpose.

I've run into this guy a few times and I agree, this is the best fight in the game. I unloaded all of my purple weapons and melee'd him about 20 times before he finally went down. Bungie needs to have more of these random guys running around.

Its a glitch, theres a public event that pops up to kill a fallen captain (which is in my opinion 1.5x harder to kill than the vandal) and if the captain reaches his final destination (which is where the vandal is) and teleports, the vandal is buffed up by a ton.
-
I don't think this is a glitch. It's a way to stop people from farming him for fallen major kills
-
Heh heh, never thought of it like that... Yes! I agree! Let them stay!
-
You ,ake a good point man. I originally hatted it, but fights like this would make the game more fun. And yes, please give them a name and make it more common. Who wouldn't enjoy this from time to time.
-
Yes, keep these and add more!

Had this happen when I started a new game with a warlock. In restoration on the harder difficulty there was a vandal that took longer to kill than Riksis. I had no real strength and Riksis was hard enough so I had to keep leaving to find enemies that would die and drop ammo. Maybe fix it so it's not at the start, but later on at high levels it would have been fun
-
i had one that it took me 30 min just to kill ran out of ammo twice and he was lvl 5 compared to me being lvl 8 that should not happen
-
It's happened to me as well
-
Ah good. I forgot to report this. That guy has done the same to me a couple times. I go into the fight thinking he's a normal level 8 and it takes my entire ammo cache to kill him. I didn't notice if his name changed. But he's definitely the same skin.
-
Last night after the public event period ended I noticed that the dregs in particular were much more aggressive.

Just fought MegaVandal again yesterday and today. Still loads of fun. Once again requesting that any devs investigating it keep it and make it a deliberate effect.

I can confirm this. I've fought that guy solo and it took around seven minutes for me. My tactics involved running around the rocks and sapping him with grenades when I ran out of ammo.

Awesome
