Text and proximity chat support.

Why let all these players roam around in a city-like social environment and then give them no tools to actually communicate other than pointing to eachother and dancing? I don't understand the thought-process behind that. Especially in the Tower. The game and UI looks like it was built for text chat. If you're not going to let us use voice chat to players outside our Fireteam (which is already way too small) then at least let us type in-game so others can see. For a game that is supposed to be very social the severe lack of basic communication tools really seems out of place and makes the game feel a bit more isolated than I would like too. This was my concern when I heard this was how it worked in the Alpha and now I'm even more concerned that this wasn't addressed for the Beta either. In the end, giving people more seamless and easier ways to meet and interact with new people will be what keeps us coming back to Destiny months and even years after launch.

 • Proximity chat would get annoying fast, especially if turned off, then you end up talking too someone who has it turned off. This does not need to be in game, you can already text/voice message and invite via PSN
