There is actually strong evidence that humans ability to laugh is an evolved response designed to help overcome fear and anxiety. By extending this logic we see that the ability to dance and have fun would be an imperative in this kind of dire situation in order to make the hopelessness of the situation more bearable. If you ever heard the phrase, " I had to laugh to keep from crying," you now know what it means. So if dancing is making it hard for you to role play it isn't because dancing is out of place, but that you're role playing any experience for which you have no frame of reference and are instead projecting what you think it would be like.
