I'm currently going through the Assassin's Creed games, trying to get a full 100% synch and as many trophies as I can (except for the multiplayer). I'm mostly doing this because I know it'll take a while to do so, and I want to stay occupied with something so I don't go crazy before launch...
Already beat 1 and 2, and just finished Brotherhood. Now my least favorite, Revelations...

I agree with both of you. I feel as though the AC games are too, these guys are good guys and these guys are bad. Are we supposed to believe that all the assassins are good? AC black flag was good but all the others showed the main character being trained as an assassin and kenway never got that.

I'm planning to do the same except AC4

Why not AC4?

Well it was honestly my least favorite AC and i'm not looking forward to collecting everything specially the underwater things

Well this is going to make me sound a little pissy but since i am a very story driven type of player i just didn't understand how Edward all of the sudden knew all the abilities of the assassins. Honestly he never felt like an assassin he just felt to be a pirate and i understand that he is a pirate but i just didn't like the way it fitted in with the other games. Now gameplay wise, yes the game is fun. Movement is smooth, it looks beautiful, some say combat is repetitive but i've always enjoyed it. I just didn't like the theme of pirates mixed with assassins. I'm not saying it was terrible i just personal didn't like it. I enjoyed playing as Adawale more in Freedom Cry than playing as Edward.

Personally, the combination of pirate and assassin made it my favorite one. In playing through the ones leading up to it, I got the sense that the character story and gameplay would go only one way, that they were born into it and it's all they'll ever know. With Edward, you play a guy who stumbled upon this collective group and struggles between what he wants, and what he feels is right. Plus, sailing and upgrading the ship was alot of funn =)

I can understand that, an outsider sort of fall upon the creed, and the ship upgrades and battles were awesome. But what i'm trying to say is that Edward was never really trained by the assassins but yet knew how to maneuver like them, knew how to assassinate properly, knew how the weapons worked. I guess what i'm trying to say is that since he is an outsider without proper training then he should've done things in a different manner, his own manner. I hope i'm making sense.

You make perfect sense, and I agree with you, mostly. I'd say some of it would be common knowledge to an pirate/thief, such as the movement and general swordplay abilities, but specifics like leap of faith and the use of a hidden blade wouldn't be a part of that. But, you have to think as the creator, do you really want to have the players spend a mission for each ability he must learn, and then do a time lapse to master it?

That's true, we wouldn't want that. i guess i expected such since Edward was a new character and whenever a new character is introduced you go through some kind origins. Maybe i have been a bit harsh on it, i probably should go back with a more open mind.
