I dont know. Some people on here like to see religion as some small tack on a vast corkboard. The reality is that religion has influenced a huge amount of what North America is today. I believe that it is extremely difficult to deduce exactly how we would have changed if we didn't have religion as an influence.
The one thing I seem to do is quickly jump to the assumption that our world would be extremely different. Thinking about it I am not so sure now. Perhaps society wouldn't change all that much. I honestly beleive that the evil would just find some other ideology to cling to as an excuse to wreak havok.
All I know is that as of right now a portion of the world is in a good place morally and politically and I have to thank religion for being the proverbial guiding light. Maybe we would have been better off, maybe not, but I do hope we keep progressing together as a society for better change.
