And unwanted pregnancy rates and abortion rates will rise as a result.
Edit to clarify what I posted overly hastily: unwanted pregnancy rates and abortion rates will be higher than they would have been had the SCOTUS ruled that birth control should be covered by health insurance.

Because they were rising before the birth control mandate, right?
-
As I said elsewhere in this sub thread they will be higher than if birth control had been covered mandatorily.

But it's not like people can't help but have sex. You have a choice on whether or not to engage in sexual activity. If you choose to do so you know the risks involved.
-
And birth control is a way to limit those risks. Since sex is an act that virtually all of the population does, and because the results of sex can be costly in many ways both to society an the individual, it makes sense to safeguard against potentially negative outcomes as much as possible. Telling people to stop having sex is like telling people to not drink or smoke because you don't agree with it. It'll never happen, and there is nothing inherently wrong with that, so you do what you can to make it as safe as possible.
-
If you choose to do so you know the risks involved.
Ergo it's not someone else's responsibility to pick up the tab.
-
Why cant they buy their own damn birth control with their wage?
-
Perhaps it is too expensive for some? I'm sure people are more than willing to have sex without it and go on welfare and get paid to not work and have kids though. Then instead of paying for condoms, you pay for their diapers, formula, and scratchers for as many kids as they plop out. I'd just prefer to help those along who might be willing to use it and cannot afford it. I'm for abortion rights, but the more abortions prevented, and the more people on welfare we can prevent, the better.

Edited by Fallen Hero: 6/30/2014 6:37:19 PMIf them or their partners both can't afford condoms or the morning after pill they should just stick to masturbating. A pack of condoms can't cost more than $20.

Have fun going across America and convincing all horny people of that. Protip: people aren't always the most logical, especially when it comes I sexual urges.
-
Better have employers buy workers salads cause fat people are illogical when hungry.
-
I'm not here to debate the validity of every mandated provision businesses give. This is just my two cents on this one since the op brought it up.
-
Here's a hint: stop having so much sex!!!
-
I don't know about you, but sex feels great. It's even better if you and your partners are practicing safe sex.
-
You know cake tastes good too. It tastes even better when you get someone else to pay for it.
-
Even better? LOL No.
-
Right because everyone wants AIDS and a kid. Especially teenagers.
-
Having unprotected sex results in AIDs and a kid? LOLOL
-
It can. Or is you knowledge on sex that poor?
-
I've had sex without protection probably around 1000 times in my life. I've never had an STD and had a PLANNED child in the past year.
-
No, but vastly increases the chance of pregnancy and STD/STI transmission.
-
Yep you're right. And you know what I had to do when I wanted to have sex. Go to the drug store, and buy a box of condoms.
-
Good for you. The point is?
-
Why should the company pay for such things? Sex isnt a necessity.
-
Why should the company pay for such things?
You do realize contraception is more than the pill and a condom, correct?
-
Yep. And they shouldn't pay for ANY contraception.
