I hope the level cap I was higher than 20 too. I played the alpha and I made level 8 in just a few hours and it felt like I got there in now time. So I feel like if the cap was 20 we would get there in under a day. I read some people say there would still be skills to work on but no one seems to know all to much about the skills so I think the level cap should be 40 at least and in my opinion I think the higher the level cap the better cuz your constantly striving to get to the cap as fast and you can and the longer it takes to get there you feel like you accomplished something great and you just feel great that you finally got there.

I apologize for this but I have to get on and rant. Level Cap Smevel Cap !! Level 20 is fine. I want to say a few things to those that want a higher level cap. 1- For those that played Alpha or any “level cap” games how exactly do you play? Do you play until the very second you hit the Cap and then walk away. Yeah, game over I hit the cap, I’m awesome even though there’s still quests, rewards, missions, to beat, it doesn’t matter anymore cause I hit the cap. Plenty of fun still to be had with the game but nope I’m just going to quit and complain that the cap should have been higher. Seems silly to me, 2- What if you hit the cap but still can’t beat certain raids and strikes because your weapons need leveling up. What? Weapons that level? Tell me more. Yes that’s right weapons level too, so now you could hit the 20 level cap, try a raid and have a very difficult challenge that you can’t quite beat so you then spend some fun gaming time leveling up your weapons and gear instead of character and then beat that raid and acquire even better legendary gear/weapon; Awesome. Now you can spend some time increasing that new legendary gear if you choose, and guess what it might equal the same amount of time as taking your character to some silly arbitrary numerical level XXwhatever. 3- Is 20 too low ok maybe 25, no 30, oh wait lets go 40, no no it should be 72, or maybe 88 cause I hit the level cap in the alpha of 8 in 8 hours and since for me to “have fun” requires I spend 16,326 hours grinding my character annnd I have 3 characters so 16,326 divided by 3 is 5,442 hours for each character and it took 8 hours to go 8 levels so 1 hour each level annnnnd ….. Perfect the level cap of Destiny MUST be 544.2 Gosh darn it Bungie you had better make it that high or I will come back here to the forums and complain that I’ve spent 16,356 hours playing your game and not had any fun. 4- I’d bet money if Bungie said the Cap was 8 someone would feel cheated without even playing the game and demand it be raised to 15, if Bungie says 15, they want 20, Bungie says 20 and we hear them demanding 30, 40, 50 or more. 5- For the “imagine running a race and shooting yourself in the foot while in 1st place” level 20 too low argument….Um Ok you lost me. Now how about you imagine being a freshman in high school (9th grade) and they say Oh The new graduation is no longer senior year (aka 12th grade) it’s now 15…and then half way through grade 15 they say nope its 20 now! And on and on and on until you die. Does that sound fun, or more like a job and life and I want games to NOT be that, but if YOU DO please go make that game!! PS- I’m not in high school, been there done that 20 years ago and not going back. 6- Anyone remember HALO, Goldeneye N64, Old COD, Doom, etc. Gosh I remember me and my friends spending 1000s of hours playing those games and NEVER REACHING Level 2. “That sucked”…said No One ever. Those games were a blast and master chief never had a little level number next to his name. 7- Lastly please, please just give the game a chance, give level 20 a chance, and see what it’s like, Find out if level 20 in the game keeps you entertained. I’ve played it, I loved it, I hit the level cap of 8 in the Alpha and I realized I had a 99.9 % chance none of this progress would carry over to Beta or the full game, and what did I do? I KEPT PLAYING!! I kept leveling up gear that would be lost the minute the servers shut down. I still had FUN! These are just my opinions, and whatever you find fun is a personnel opinion, so play whatever game entertains you whether it has a cap, no cap, 1001 lives, infinite lives, 8bits, 30 fps, 1080, or 720. jeez just play and have fun. Yes I will be posting this on each of the level 20 threads just in the hope I convince one person to cool down and wait until they hit level 20 before sending angry emails to Bungie, so troll away; I really had nothing to do today except scouring the internet to ease my Destiny Alpha Withdrawals.

It's not about level. It's about growing your skills/abilities and gear/weapons.

No lvl cap is around 50-60

This game is going to last 10 years supposedly, I highly doubt that they plan on having players getting to level 20 day one and playing another 10 years without something more so obviously they are going to increase the level cap with more content.

You reference a level 88 launch cap in skyrim about 45 times in this thread. It was 81. If you're going to whine whilst comparing one game to another, please do so with factual information. :)

Player level is only a limiter on what weapons, armor, personal vehicles, and ships you can get. Why does it matter how high it is?

Its more than 25 because i saw gear that required you to be lvl 30 . Gear in the tower were more than 30 . I promise you it'll be more than 30 .
