I love Spark's connotation when explaining the purpose of Halo.
"They and all additional sentient life in three radii of the galactic center, died, as planned."
English
-
Radii? which is how far?
-
Radii is radius plural.
-
yeah, i know. it just doesn't seem to make sense in this context. they're using it as a unit of distance with an unknown actual range and to references with which to reverse engineer the distances with mathematically.
-
Well, to put it simply, the diameter of the galaxy is 100,000 LY. The radius is 50,000 LY. Halo's reach extends to 150,000 LY.
-
so firing the halos killed one and a half of the galaxy? did they "ark" earth or did they just kill all the native fauna and anything still there?
-
They indexed a select number of each species. The majority of life was still in the galaxy when the Halo Array was fired.
-
no, i mean when master chef fired the halos.
-
Master Chief fired only Alpha Halo, which was at the center of the Ark, which was far outside the edge of the galaxy.
-
04 didn't even fire. It wasn't finished so it just destroyed itself and most of the ark
-
Master Chief never fired the Array.
-
I think it means a space three times larger than the radius of the galaxy was cleansed.
