Dat RPG styled boss battle. Besides the Heretic leader, Regret and Tartarus just broke gameplay.

Huh? Regret you just shoot him or punch him to death. Tartarus you just shoot him when his shields are down. How does that break gameplay?
-
With Regret he breaks gameplay because he has more health than a Brute. With Tartarus his personal shield can't be knocked down in one shot by a plasma pistol. And no matter what weapon you have the only way to get that shield down is by Johnson's beam rifle. When you have a cluster of elites with swords and needlers attacking him that should drain his shields down withing a second.
-
Yeah, he has a lot of health, but they gave you a bunch of Sniper and Rocket ammo before that fight. And again, getting close to him is his weakness and the number 1 easiest way to kill him. With Tartarus that was the whole point. You had to wait for his shields to go down to kill him. It seems like you're thinking they break gameplay because they don't die like regular enemies. But that's the entire point of them being Boss battles, they're not like regular enemies, you need to do more than just shooting the target to kill them. With the Heretic you need to make sure you shoot the right target. With Regret, you need to get close to him. With Tartarus, you need to wait until he's exposed. They have very standard Boss fight weaknesses, and doing any attacks that don't strike those weaknesses will either do nothing or take far longer. Are you sure you just don't like Boss fights?

Just went through it again, you can kill him first, but there are multiple stages on Legendary. He and his holograms come out of vents in the walls, and instead of just 2 holos, there's 3 once he comes out the vents.
-
You can kill him first, but it's not that easy. Or maybe I'm just remembering it being hard because I played on Legendary last time.
-
That's Legendary. Legendary bumps up the amount of times you have to "kill" him before you defeat him.
-
I don't remember that, but I'll go through again and check it out.
-
Yeah. I remember when I was pre-teen I could whore the FRG and spam him to beat him before the boss fight started.
