Someone be a cool dude and explain this to me.
So all of these items are timed exclusives which means all players (including those on Xbone) will be able to get them eventually through drops? Do we know how long they are exclusive for?

My apologies. Not kotaku, but joystiq. Article titled "make space for Destiny's exclusive content" Amazon has a post stating it remain play station exclusive until at least fall 2015.
-
until at least fall 2015.
That would be bananas and Bungie would have some splanin to do.
-
Yea. By that time any items would be irrelevant.
-
There was an article in kotaku today saying someone has posted the exclusivity will remain for 1 year in the least. Date listed was fall 2015.
-
We don't how long they're exclusive for but usually with day 1 DLC its almost immediately available especially for gear. As for the strike and the weapons, I think we may have to progress far into the game (mars) before we can do/acquire them.
-
We don't know how long they are exclusives or even how we get them. Here's my guess: - It's a download code for PS gamers. - You pickup the weapons from the postmaster and receive the mission from another NPC like the postmaster - It comes over to Xbox in an update - Xbox gets everything the same way
-
I seriously doubt the weapons/armor would just be handed out like that. The weapons are after all, exotic. And the armor looks way too high of a tier to just be handed out. And the mission will most likely be placed on the map of Mars seen in the Navigator like any other Strike.

That's how these things work. enter a code and BAM! you get your "unique" gear. That's why I'm never excited for pre-order items or exclusives, because they're only ever a tad stronger than starting gear
-
I understand that that's how things usually work, it just really doesn't make sense for a game like this. Like, it's not like we'll have instant access to the strike on Mars, we have to get ourselves to Mars first (upgrading ship to make the distance). I feel as though it will be the same for the gear.

That's entirely possible.
