Sadly, while traveling on your own and hitchhiking could be done a few decades ago with relative ease, it's much harder to do today because of how dangerous things have become, and because of money issues. A friend of mine has told me all of his stories about hitchhiking when he was younger, and how easy it was to get a bit of money for your next meal and so on. Even in those days, it was a risk, but today, with things being the way they are, it's not only hard, but very risky.
If I could travel without the risk, maybe I would. But as I get older all I'd like to do is find a spot to my own, carve it to my liking, and settle down. Only then would I consider the other avenues of travel.

Sure, it is risky and dangerous. But if I am doomed to a life in which I need to do things that I don't like I will take the risks and travel. It's my life, not that of someone else. But I also wish it was easier. But oh well, atleast it's not impossible. :3
