Bungie just released that there will be no splitscreen in Destiny. However, they also said that if the community came together on a subject then they WILL listen. We need to band together, and show that we CARE about whether or not there is splitscreen.
I want to play with my friends and family. I don't want to spend $400+ just to please these major companies. Ever since Halo, I've loved split-screen. I couldn't STOP. 4-Player FPS was my DREAM, and now Bungie, my HERO, makes the one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen single player, I couldn't stand aside.
This is for the gamers who love splitscreen.
This is for the people who want to make their OWN choices, not the ones who'd rather have greedy gaming companies chose FOR them.
This is for the family.
This is for the friends.
This is for split-screen.
Please comment below why you do or don't want split-screen.
Also share this link all over the web. Twitter. Facebook. Bungie. With your help we can bring split-screen back to Destiny.
(EDIT #2) The change.org petition was made by someone else.
http://www.change.org/petitions/destiny-add-split-screen-co-op
(EDIT) Also everyone. Be nice and respectful of others. Keep it clean out there, I don't want this to be reduced to a shouting match. Keep the peace.
I hope you're listening Deej.
(EDIT)
Guys, lets think for a moment.
People talk about consoles not being able to handle splitscreen and single player experiences being ruined because adding splitscreen would reduce single player graphics.
If this was true, wouldn't Bungie have just said that in their explanation of why splitscreen wasn't in Destiny?
Think about it.
If consoles didn't have the power, wouldn't Bungie have just said that for their reason why Destiny didn't have splitscreen?
If single player graphics were decreased, wouldn't Bungie have just said that for their reason why Destiny didn't have splitscreen?
But Bungie DIDN'T.
Their silence speaks for itself.
None of the above is TRUE, because if it WAS Bungie would have just SAID SO as their excuse for no splitscreen!
Think about it! If it was TRUE they would have just used it as their excuse!
However they DIDN'T.
Which means only one thing:
IT ISN'T TRUE.
They never mentioned it! They said nothing about console power or single player graphics!
So the REASON WHY it wasn't mentioned is because it SIMPLY ISN'T TRUE!
Consoles CAN handle it!
Singe player graphics AREN'T affected!
And Bungie doesn't want us to know!
They only technicalities they went into were "rendering" and "tethering", however, they also never said that splitscreen WASN'T possible!
They speak of rendering and tethering, but never said that it WASN'T possible!
Cmon people! Look at it! Splitscreen IS possible, and we need to speak up!
Btw MMO's can have splitscreen.

First and best multiplayer experiance I ever had was playing some split screen halo 1 and halo 2. Playing the alpha I see no reason why they couldnt do it. They can and ill be very depressed if they dont.

2 RepliesThis thread must be kept alive. The first thing I was gonna do in destiny was play with my brother. Good job on taking away that experience.
SHAME ON YOU BUNGIE
Give back what it should habe been since the beginng
-
It'll be great if I could sit next to a buddy and enjoy a beer together while playing Destiny... Cheers!
-
Of course I mean it's a co op and multiplayer game
-
I would love spit-screen to be implemented, so long as it doesn't hinder development time on other parts of the game.
-
Split-Screen with at least 2 players is what gets me purchasing a lot of games. Call of Duty, Borderlands, Halo are all essentially worthless to me without split-screen. I would prefer that this didn't happen w/ Destiny as the Alpha looks and feels quite enjoyable and looks great.

i want splitscreen in Destiny

1 ReplyI have moved past FPS' for the most part but will totally play games like this on split screen. Borderlands showed that you can have an rpg style leveling system with split screen

Dear fellow consumers, Much like dells support blog to file complaints... About hardware and-or software/customer support issues... In-order to avoid social media backlash we must not be lead astray. As consumers, we demand to be treated as individuals, on a personal level, with similar needs/wants. Couch co-op isn't something new to loyal bungie customers, and at its foundation sets the tone for future core game development. I will not re-cite my previous post regarding transparency/corporate social responsibility. I have now given my insight into how most consumers feel about this decision. Bungie good job saving face with your mod's not closing this thread. And for encouraging complaints/feedback being posted here, by request, via-employees instead of 3-party alternatives. Since my last post I have captured the posts from both brand supporters, and those like myself who disagree with the decision. Stats aside make the right choice for your brand image and future shareholders, and be a leader moving forward into this digital age. If not you have lost me as a consumer. ✌️

I will buy an Xbox One, an extra controller, and Destiny ONLY if I can play this (online) split-screen!

14 RepliesEdited by Galahad: 6/12/2014 9:29:58 PMTo those who voted "no", how does our quest affect you, exactly? We're just asking for a new feature (old for previous Bungie games) to be implemented, not trying to remove something you love from the game. Splitscreen can be added post-launch or even in the second game, so that nobody gets hurt or the game delayed. We're NOT asking for the game to be delayed to add this or making it worse, quite the contrary. So then, why? I understand there'll always be people against everything, but 200 people against something that doesn't affect them in any way? Could you please elaborate on that?

Borderlands had very fun sandbox splitscreen. If Bungie can't pull that off they should atleast include PvP splitscreen!
-
Games with splitscreen are a lot more appealing and enjoyable. I wouldn't have enjoyed the Halo series as much without it.
-
12 RepliesThey not going to add split screen because of a survey.
-
Simply put, without split screen I will not buy the game. I don't enjoy online play, or solo play. I enjoy sitting down with some buddies, ordering up some pizza, drinking some brewskies and shooting some aliens. Split-screen co-op is what got me into Halo, and I'd hate to see that die in Destiny.

1 ReplyOut of all of my friends, I'm the only one who bought a next-gen console, so having split screen is definatley a HUGE plus. Please make this happen Bungie!
-
3 RepliesIf you want split screen say AGREED
-
OH YOU HAVE TO ADD SPLITSCREEN!!!! Why else did I buy a second controller this whole time!!?!?
-
My best memories were playing Halo with my brother and a group of friends. Now, due to the fact that most of my friends to play anymore, all I have is my bro. Now I can't play with him! Super Sadface!
-
And the Bungie Community says "AMEN". (Amen = i agree or agreed)
-
I don't care if it makes my PS4 have some PS2 era graphics -gimme split screen! I would never have played halo without it.
-
There is NO reason for them to NOT add Split-screen! If you hate split- screen then don't use it but if you ever want to its there. PUT SPLIT-SCREEN IN!!!!!!
-
I have been very excited for destiny for some time now and am in love with the gameplay. I think adding split screen would allow for more competitive playing. And also could help bungie make more sales because it will allow for it to be more a party game as well as a great single player.
-
I don't have anybody to play split-screen with, but I definitely understand why you would want it. VIVA LA SPLIT-SCREEN!!!
