Bungie just released that there will be no splitscreen in Destiny. However, they also said that if the community came together on a subject then they WILL listen. We need to band together, and show that we CARE about whether or not there is splitscreen.
I want to play with my friends and family. I don't want to spend $400+ just to please these major companies. Ever since Halo, I've loved split-screen. I couldn't STOP. 4-Player FPS was my DREAM, and now Bungie, my HERO, makes the one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen single player, I couldn't stand aside.
This is for the gamers who love splitscreen.
This is for the people who want to make their OWN choices, not the ones who'd rather have greedy gaming companies chose FOR them.
This is for the family.
This is for the friends.
This is for split-screen.
Please comment below why you do or don't want split-screen.
Also share this link all over the web. Twitter. Facebook. Bungie. With your help we can bring split-screen back to Destiny.
(EDIT #2) The change.org petition was made by someone else.
http://www.change.org/petitions/destiny-add-split-screen-co-op
(EDIT) Also everyone. Be nice and respectful of others. Keep it clean out there, I don't want this to be reduced to a shouting match. Keep the peace.
I hope you're listening Deej.
(EDIT)
Guys, lets think for a moment.
People talk about consoles not being able to handle splitscreen and single player experiences being ruined because adding splitscreen would reduce single player graphics.
If this was true, wouldn't Bungie have just said that in their explanation of why splitscreen wasn't in Destiny?
Think about it.
If consoles didn't have the power, wouldn't Bungie have just said that for their reason why Destiny didn't have splitscreen?
If single player graphics were decreased, wouldn't Bungie have just said that for their reason why Destiny didn't have splitscreen?
But Bungie DIDN'T.
Their silence speaks for itself.
None of the above is TRUE, because if it WAS Bungie would have just SAID SO as their excuse for no splitscreen!
Think about it! If it was TRUE they would have just used it as their excuse!
However they DIDN'T.
Which means only one thing:
IT ISN'T TRUE.
They never mentioned it! They said nothing about console power or single player graphics!
So the REASON WHY it wasn't mentioned is because it SIMPLY ISN'T TRUE!
Consoles CAN handle it!
Singe player graphics AREN'T affected!
And Bungie doesn't want us to know!
They only technicalities they went into were "rendering" and "tethering", however, they also never said that splitscreen WASN'T possible!
They speak of rendering and tethering, but never said that it WASN'T possible!
Cmon people! Look at it! Splitscreen IS possible, and we need to speak up!
Btw MMO's can have splitscreen.

I would love splitscreen
-
Though I don't think it will, I would LOVE split screen!
-
Yea I'm really hoping they are adding it post launch because like other people said I haven't seen more than 12 ppl in public areas then when you get to the darkness in a mission it cuts down to your fireteam. I would be fine even if it was just 2 player and not 4 player split screen Please bungie add it post launch!

2 RepliesIt's an mmo. Since when so they ****ing have couch split screen

Edited by ProfessorSports: 7/24/2014 8:56:25 PMnow I'm no development expert or anything but when i started playing the beta a few days ago i saw nothing that limits split screen. At no point did i ever see more then a few players in one are with the exemption of the tower and the crucible. but even then max of 12 guys which i think 2 player split screen could handle. Tethering wont be a biggie as when i was playing with a friend we barely went more then 50 m from each other. So i don't see the issue here. Basically the standard optimizations for split screen plus tethering of 150 m for split screen users should work.

1 ReplyIn this day and age more of society is jut selfish. Nobody cares about others. Us older players see that even if ur even a lonely weirdo that has to only have friends online don't take away the freedom of choice for the few out there who want it. If you just let them walk all over you you might as well get of america I mean this is land of the free. I choose to use my freedom and say I want it. Not to screw over lonely gamers but to just so I can enjoy games with my wife. Thanks for listening

Split screen would surely benefit 2/3 of my Fireteam.
-
Wouldn't hurt it. And it'll be cool playing with my brother on the same console doing the campaign split screen would be nice too.
-
Yes. Split-screen needs to be included. Even if it's campaign only. I enjoy playing with my mates in the same room. And, some of them of don't have PS4s.
-
Split screen co-op was what kept me on borderlands for so long, would love it as an option if it's viable.
-
I wish. I love split screen. It would be nice to have me and my brother playing in the same room while I'm logged in on my name and him on his.
-
Add split screen!!! Why wouldn't there be split screen?

Edited by Nemesis: 7/23/2014 7:19:49 AMSome of my fondest childhood memories are me and my dad playing halo 1co-op on my xbox... I would love to be able to create similar experiences in Destiny One thing people are assuming is that the p2 is a tag along...NO...they should have to have an account as well
-
I have a friend who does not own a console come by regularly. We LOVED to play Halo split screen. It would be great!
-
Yes. A thousand times, yes.
-
1 ReplyI say yes i would love split screen cuz I want to be able to play with my brothers
-
Hell -blam!-ing no!! This isn't cod!! lol Buwahahaha -sips on his tea with Kermit the frog!
-
If no then I will have to buy a 2nd system.
-
7 RepliesI feel like none of you experienced borderlands 2's garbage split screen. If BUNGIE doesn't think they can fit it in, or just doesn't want to, let them leave it out. I'd rather have no splitscreen than 12 fps.
-
2 RepliesSo we can't have split-screen because of the so called graphic whores who will start whining about Destiny being outdated? I wouldn't even mind, the story got me interested so far and I'm only buying it for that. Online, I'll give it a shot anyway.
-
Edited by novagains: 7/22/2014 8:23:06 PMI don't want it because then my brother will want to play and I gave him my ps3 to leave me alone... Soooo no I don't want splitscreen
-
1 ReplyI personally like splitscreen and think they should add it. And for the people who don't like it... just don't use it. It's really that simple.
-
2 RepliesSeriously? I get that Halo was GREAT split screen but unfortunately if you're unfamiliar with what they're making now it's called an MMO, there is no where in the game where you're offline even when roaming the world. There is no way that they could make split screen work in a persistent online world where you need to CREATE a character to begin and LEVEL it up so you can get to tougher Zones. Sorry, it ISN'T possible, just enjoy the game.
-
Well I don't think it will happen with this game friend I'm sorry to say, however bungie did say they plan to make sequels so maybe destiny 2 will probably include it in the next game.
-
1 ReplyA lack of evidence is not evidence itself...
-
3 RepliesI, for one, believe splitscreen to be one of the main reasons for the original halo's, and therefor all subsequent halo games, sucsess! But the sad truth is that the bottom line is money and online gaming being the money maker it is is all that matters. Not you and your brother, daughter, friend or partner's collective experience. I love online gaming but nothing compares to laughing in the face of your friend who just drove his warthog ( your ride out of danger ) into a gorge....... :'( RIP co-op fun
