Just a general reminder: You are free to say whatever you want. That does not make you free from punishment because of it.
Edit: So there seems to be some miscommunication about the above. I'm not stating my opinion, I'm stating the law. You are held accountable for what you say. If you threaten someone's life, it's a death threat. If you are racist or sexist, it's hate speech.
If anything, this is a critique on modern society (not for good or bad, just a critique). It's like that popular joke against America (I'm not sure how familiar Americans are with it): American Freedom*

I never would've thought you a fascist until know.

I'm just telling you all what the law states. I'm going to edit the OP with my opinion.

That's an oxymoron if I ever saw one.
Just a general reminder: You are free to say whatever you want. That does not make you free from punishment because of it.
Bro, do you even freedom??
-
Free to say what you want, but still subject to the law. I'm Canadian. We "freedom" better than you.
-
Then you are not free to say it moron. The whole point is you can't be in trouble with the law but face the consequences of say your employer or a colleges firing/removing you. Threats are the exception as you are instilling fear.

So, it's not true free speech then, eh? Free speech should protect your speech so long as it doesn't incite panic, like yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater. Sure the guy in the OP may be a raging docuhebag, but in actual free countries, it's not a jail-able offense to be a douchebag and say douchebag things; that's the reason why the WBC can still do what they do. The 1st amendment protects you from being jailed, but it doesn't allow protection from what other people think. You go on live TV and spout hate speech and claim allegiance to the KKK? Well within your rights, no jail. However, your boss, family and associates may not like you much after that. " I my not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it"

Edited by Charlemagne: 6/6/2014 12:29:52 AMBy "We do 'freedom' better than you" I meant that we have a higher freedom rating. Even America doesn't have "true" free speech. If you did (joking) death threats would be allowed.

The world freedom index. We've been above your for years.
You are free to say whatever you want. That does not make you free from punishment because of it.
That is the literal opposite of "free" speech. Those two sentences are contradictory.

That sounds so totalitarian it's not even funny.

Okay.
