Listen, I love Halo. Master Chief is probably my favorite video game character. I love Halo's story. But it really annoys me when people compare Destiny to Halo. Yes, Destiny is a futuristic FPS, but destiny is an open world online game. My friends still say it'll be just like halo, but personally I think it will be a futuristic open world, MMO type game. I have faith Destiny will be a new, original, fun experience, with nostalgia as well. Destiny will be a new and innovative game but with a somewhat familiar feel. Tell me in the comments if you've had similar experiences with friends saying Destiny is like Halo, or if you disagree with me. Thanks Guardians!

Yeah i agree i hate when people say oh its just like halo and borderlands well no duh the controls may feel like halo because its a bungie game they dont go and fire everyone so they can hire a new development and design team

Don't be annoyed, it's just ignorance talking. Personally I dislike Halo (Yeah, I said it... wanna fight about it?), but I love Destiny. A friend of mine said the other day that Destiny looked like Halo, but I have since 'educated' him and after getting a go of the alpha this weekend he's now looking forward to playing Destiny in September.

Been playing Destiny since Alpha's release to Playstation. IMO it's Not Halo.

The only "halo" feel I got from playing the alpha was fighting the hive knights which are extremely similar to hunters from halo. They carry a large weapon that shoots a plasma projectile at you which deals a lot of damage. Other than that, it's a completely new experience for me!

I like Urk's comment on this "We aren't afraid of our own shadow."

1 ReplyPlaying the Alpha. Anyone who actually plays the game and says it's like Halo is either lying or has never played a different FPS. This game stands alone as an FPS. It is remenicant of Borderlands in the play style but it is unbelievable how good it is (I just didn't like BL2). I can't wait for the full game to come out. If old Russia is this huge I can't wait to explore the other worlds.

Yeah gets me mad

God yes

It seems many jimmies have been rustled.

2 RepliesIt's not a halo clone by any means, but you cannot deny the many different game mechanics and designs that have obviously been taken from and inspired by Halo. And why not? Halo 1-3 were spectacular and bungie was the creator of that universe. Makes sense to me you'd find similarities in the two.

I've played both and they don't have really anything in common besides being in outer space
-
Every time someone at my school has said that, I've had the urge to throw a chair at them.
-
at the end of the day, it plays like halo... which is a good thing, take it as a compliment :) The MMO part is awesome and does seperate itself from halo, but the 30 second gameplay loop is undeniably Bungie in a way that instantly reminds you of Halo.
-
1 ReplyYeah I hate that and it possesses me off because they're both very different.
-
2 RepliesIt is so annoying when people say destiny is just a halo clone and stuff simillar master chief is awesome really he is but it's really iratatting when people say that i just scream into rage but still destiny will pull through i garantee so Beautiful Bastards Forever MOTHA CHUFFIN EXPOLSION WITH A BOOM

2 RepliesAnyone who makes the comparison, I would immediately send to go play "Marathon". Then ask them, "doesn't that feel a lot like Halo?". Yeah, end of discussion at that point.
-
3 RepliesSome people are just stupid they can not compare 2 game that's not even out yet. Once they play it then they will see the different. #Dumbhalofanboys

When you really compare it to Halo, it's easy to come to that conclusion. For example, one can compare the enemies through type: Fallen=Elites, Cabal=Brutes, Hive=Flood, and Vex=Prometheans. However, Destiny brings to the table its own elements that make it unique and all its own. The RPG aspects of Destiny such as the customisation and class system invite a level of immersion that was never felt in Halo.
-
2 RepliesAfter playing it, I can see where people are coming from on how it feels like halo. I think It is basically halo+basic borderlands elements+ it's own thing.

Isn't it annoying when people say destiny is going to be just like Halo?
Caring that much about a differing opinion says a lot about you, and what it's saying isn't good.
P.S. please like this if you found this interesting! :)
Child confirmed.

Destiny is a unique game. It borrows elements from a few franchises. I think it's a mix of Borderlands and Halo honestly. It borrows the best elements from each
-
3 RepliesDestiny is clearly like Counter Strike because it has guns. Halo is like Mega Man because it has futuristic settings and armor. Honestly, tell your friend to shut it and just play the game. Hell, CoD and BF are the same, yet ppl swear up and down that one is better than the other. The only difference being is that CoD knows players are generally retarded, while BF still hopes the same players can mount a good squad strike.

It feels like halo.
-
3 RepliesIt's going to be like Borderlands.
-
12 RepliesIt's halo with borderlands also has fantasy elements.
-
17 RepliesIt's gonna be another CoD clone, just like mario.
