I like them both. I like Master Chief better but there is no bias present. Master Chief without his armor would wreck Cap. With his armor he would wreck him even more. Just look at their info.

Hmmm...no. Even with his armor, John's still not in Steve's league.

The only way you can come to that conclusion is if you're referring to the comic book Cap. The only way you can accurately compare the two is with the movies and the (preferably) books of halo. This depicts the most realistic versions of the characters. Despite being fiction, they abide by logic A LOT more and using that logic John wins through experience, augmentations, weapons expertise, and even capability. Then add the armor he has even more advantages over him.
This depicts the most realistic versions of the characters
That isn't how it works. At all. It isn't about realism, it's about comparing their abilities and seeing who wins. Comic Cap is standard Cap. Unless OP specifies we're using movie Captain America, or some other version, we assume he's referring to comic Captain America.

Edited by Nitemare 43: 5/26/2014 1:30:05 AMYou can't compare the comic universe of marvel where bullets and explosion magically don't hurt you with Halo's canon which is invested in a highly realistic universe. Doesn't work that way. That's why using the movie characters is the best choice because the movie went the realistic route where you can compare them. The rules are everything. Have to play on the same court.
invested in a highly realistic universe
That's a joke, right? Have you read the books at all? Particularly the newer ones? Halo is about as far from realistic as it gets, what with its intelligent space fungus, 'living time', and aliens that come back from the dead and evolve Pokemon-style. Comic Cap is standard Cap. Unless OP specifically says 'yes, we're using movie Cap', then we're using comic Cap. That's all there is to it. Doesn't matter if it's unfair for one side or the other.

I'm talking realistic in the sense of realism. Invested universe. Neither are 100% realistic but it's clear Halo puts a lot more effort into realism from basic laws of physics to explaining more complicated things. You can't have two different universe characters battle if they don't share the same laws of physics. We're talking comic book logic here. Magic, unharmed from explosions, etc. If you can't agree to that then that's fine.
it's clear Halo puts a lot more effort into realism from basic laws of physics to explaining more complicated things
Like the MACs supposedly firing rounds at 1/4 the speed of light and according to Reach making a relatively small explosion on impact?
You can't have two different universe characters battle if they don't share the same laws of physics
It's worked in every other vs thread, including past Cap vs Chief threads.

Mentioning MAC logic doesn't change laws of physics for life/death and combat. Which is the core of my point. Just look at the violence that is missing in comics. Actual gore and the realism tied to that. You can compare them, but I'm assuming everyone who voted Chief did so by comparing the movie cap or took cap for what he is in the comics just a human with strength and speed, and ignored the immune to damage fallacies, which gives you the same Cap for the most part. Either way, it's the same outcome.
