The instant install-base for last-gen is still to gigantic to be ignored. It's going to take at least one more Christmas (if not two) for AAA Developers to truly step away from the 360 and PS3.
Bungie needs a HUGE community rallied around this game. WHY? Because Destiny's potential, its main selling-point, is centered around the social, co-op, and persistent world elements. Features that require warm bodies to work properly.
Destiny #2 is a different matter. But for now, Bungie needs as many people as possible to get a taste of Destiny. To insure the franchise's future prosperity.

If only ps3 and 4 could play together :) although then I guess people would have less incentive to "re buy" destiny if they upgrade consoles, not to mention the fact that hardware wise it wouldn't work.

they could have went the other way with it though and make it so that destiny was a stable of reasoning to why you would buy a next-gen console i think its more a matter of shear units and that to get this game started it cost so much that they need all 4 pools to tap from or else they will come out with more of a loss i believe the game is being held back by last-gen but your reasoning is sound i do hope they really step up the next one though in the end i think where more or less paying the starting fee of the real game

I could not agree more. With the next gen Guardian transfers being possible the next Destiny will have even more potential.
