Edit: who bumped this thread?
First, ABC found out that documents put together by the CIA in the wake of the Benghazi bombing were edited twelve times by the White House before being distributed. References to terrorism and Al-Qaeda were removed, and the (now infamous) talking points used by Susan Rice on her TV appearances were based on the edited documents.
Next up, the AP is reporting that the Justice Department secretly obtained its phone records, a "massive and unprecedented intrusion into the gathering of news". While the phone records don't show the content of the calls, just who was called and for how long, obtaining records from the media is a method of last resort-- and the organization must be notified in advance.
Finally, the IRS apparently targeted groups critical of the government in determining which should get tax-exempt status. Thanks to the Citizens United ruling, "political groups applying for tax-exempt status more than doubled", and the IRS did struggle to deal with the influx. But staffers were first told to pay more attention to "statements in the case file criticize how the country is being run". When objections were raised, the criteria were dropped... but then replaced with new standards: "political action type organizations involved in limiting/expanding Government, educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, social economic reform movement".
Suggest more ways in which the government can screw shit up.

In other news, the bush administration did things 100x worse than those, 100x as often.
