In my final words on this topic of the rating, here are my thoughts: 1. I'm not saying I'm not going to play it if it's M, I have a few rated M games, like halo, and war in the north, but I preordered it, and I'm not canceling that. 2. The evidence in front of us shows that Bungie doesn't plan to get a M on their box, and they are trying, not just by taking most gore out, there is no sexual themes, no in game cussing, and no blood from your gaurdian. 3. I have no three, so I'm just gonna say, I'm a Christian and I serve the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

Either mature or 16+ I heard.
-
Sorry, Hman, I know you want it to be non-restrictive, but remember, "online interactions not rated by esrb." You can still cuss on mike set and talk with friends, but rated T makes it easier for bungie to sell it to more age groups.
-
My thought on this, as a Christian, I need to surround myself with what's pure. Rated M games aren't pure,(duh) the reason I like destiny a lot is because it's doesn't have impure things
-
You don't need to surround yourself with what's pure, it's a video game why should it affect your purity.
-
Because it stays in your head, why did the kid kill the father? Because he played halo so much he thought the dad would respawn. It's in my best interest to be in a clean environment.
-
Me being a christian myself. Find a flaw in your statement about why the kid killed his father. Because he thought his father would respawn is to simple and easy. If that were the case every kid from here to japan would be offing their parents. In truth there would have to be some under laying abuse of some kind or mental illness which would going the child s instrument in some way.but I understand your logic. Look I've played all sorts of games and as a christian haven't been affected by it at all.

Edited by AntekTheWinner: 5/8/2014 2:07:32 AMHe killed his father cause the father had a gun lying around with a child whose frontal lobe hasn't developed fully yet, meaning that it only happened cause this was a little kid, had he grown up he'd be fine and never have killed his father. Plus the more you isolate yourself from the impurities of the world the easier you are to be corrupted and impure when you grow up, not to say that I'm talking about growing up in a bad or poor environment, just that if something like a video games effects your "purity" at all then you got something wrong with you, you should be able to hold your ideals and not be wavered by the malicious influence even if they are right in your face in every day life, otherwise when it is infront of you, then you can't resist and stick to your resolve.

Kudos to you who stated better then I could and was well informed as well. I agree.

Not to turn this into a philosophical debate but did not jesus himself sit with sinners of all types and did he not. Welcome them so sit by him. Which in turn the pharasee did forebaded him flrom doing so. Jesus did not come for the saved but for the unsaved so that they might be saved through him.

The Pharisees believed if you broke the law, you were a sinner, many of their laws were made up by them, I'm not saying that I'm not wanting to be with sinful individuals, that would be judging, I'm saying that it's not healthy for you to be in that stuff when you play. I don't doubt anyone's morality here, I'm just saying that it's: 1. More safe for kids to play non-mature games 2. For guys to play in a nice, cleaner environment 3. Not worth us arguing over it, this has been a great talk, it has, but it's time we stop fighting each other and work together on this.
-
It all depends on the person if you're very open to absorbing everything from your environment then yeah I guess you need to isolate yourself more, not like that's 100% good though.
It all depends on the person if you're very open to absorbing everything from your environment then yeah I guess you need to isolate yourself more, not like that's 100% good though.
I never said "isolate", some times you have to talk with people like that, but that doesn't mean you try to thrive in it.
-
Edited by AntekTheWinner: 5/8/2014 3:13:46 AMI meant isolate yourself from impurity not people
-
I meant isolate yourself from impurity not people
that's what I mean, sometimes you have to confront impurity, but that doesn't mean you thrive in it, if you isolate yourself, you won't know how to deal with impurity while your in college or the "real world"
-
I think thriving in impurity is just fine if you can handle it, and plenty people can.
-
I think thriving in impurity is just fine if you can handle it, and plenty people can.
do I need to repeat that verse again?
-
If you want to.

Let me put this way, a lot of Christian gamers out there(including me) don't play games with stuff like in skyrim, the whole "sexual themes" and so forth. I know you guys are grown up and all that, but it's much nicer if it's rated T, when was the last time we had an awesome game that doesn't include worldly things, which won't inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
-
Well you're still killing conscious and sentient beings in this game, even if there is no blood and gore and no swearing, and gets rated T, isn't the fact that you kill things impure in that case?
-
Well you're still killing conscious and sentient beings in this game, even if there is no blood and gore and no swearing, and gets rated T, isn't the fact that you kill things impure in that case?
and they aren't humans, is it wrong to kill a dog, no, it's only bad stewardship of what God gives us

U know wat if ur so religious dont play games at all then ok end of conversation
-
U know wat if ur so religious dont play games at all then ok end of conversation
why are you so offended by my facts on this matter, entertainment is a part of fellowship, which is great for friends, you assume that I'm an religious know-it-all, I'm a servant of Christ. I am a Christian, and this game is looking great for me, and someday, I will get to show it to my friends and we will all play it together and fellowship.
