This is the first time I have seen a thread with +20 replies and not a single insult thrown. ... It is beginning.
-
What exactly are you referring to when you say that?
-
Gwen died.
-
I know that.
-
I'm saying, he was head over heels for Gwen, he loved her more than anyone else, and then she died.
-
So after gwen he moved onto Mary Jane?
-
Yeah. What would you do?
-
Hit up dat Mary Jane!
-
Not immediately, but yeah.
-
No he fell in love with Gwen first, but met the roughly around the same time. Harry was dating Mary Jane when Peter was with Gwen.
-
So then was the first Spiderman trilogy inaccurate?
-
Unbelievably so.
-
Not really. There are multiple Spiderman universes that are different from the main. The original movie trilogy is just it's own take in Spiderman.
-
Ah I see, so which one if any was that Spiderman?
-
It is it's own Spider-man universe. But the thing is, when people talk about Marvel, they usually talk about the 616 universe, which is pretty much the mainstream universe. Which is what we are talking about here, and what I was talking about in the OP.
-
So the 616 universe is from the old trilogy?
-
No, the 616 universe is the one where e meets and falls in love with Gwen and then she dies Raimi's trilogy is it's own thing
-
So if I were to start collecting Spiderman comics, which universe or series would be the best to start in, if you could give any input?
-
Well, The Amazing Spiderman literally just started up again last week. I just bought issue #1, and that takes place in 616.
-
Would you recommend it as a good series for beginners of the Spiderman comics?
-
Yeah, absolutely. Any comic is a good comic to begin with. Some just more than others. But if you head to any comic book store, just tell them your situation and they'll help out. That's how I started.
-
I noticed in Amazing 2's trailer that Rhino is a mechanical rhino and not the human, is there a reason why? Or just a decision by the director?
-
Because it's not as realistic He's still a person he's just in a suit
-
As far as I know, it's Sam Raimi's own version of Spiderman.
-
So now with that out of the way, are the Amazing movies taken from the comic series themselves or just the name?
