Apparently DeeJ doesn't believe in auto-locking threads after they go inactive for a certain length of time because he thinks that people will honestly look for an old ass thread to bump and restart a conversation instead of just creating a new thread.
The only people who actually go looking for those old ass threads are the people wanting to spam the front page with necrobumped topics.

He's the "Community Manager" yet he wants us to do the managing. If you ask me, that's just asking for trouble.

BEGINNING TRANSMISSION: (Low melodious hum.) I do not think you understand fully. Deej's job as a community manager is many things, but most importantly it is to build a strong relationship with the "Community". Website maintenance is ran by the web team. Before, this site was so "restricted" or had many limitations that the users were unhappy with. To solve this problem, the users were given most of what they wanted, including the privilege to "run" Bungie.net as they see fit. ENDING TRANSMISSION:

Perhaps, but at the same time there is no tool to prevent seeing necrobumps. Muting the user who's doing it won't stop the bumped threads from appearing and hiding the threads means you still have to see them. Archiving old threads and having users start a new conversation if the old one was a few months old is a better idea. At least conversations stay relatively relevant that way. Also, necrobumping is against the rules, contrary to what you said earlier. Somebody else was telling me they got banned for it because I thought the same as you.

BEGINNING TRANSMISSION: (Low melodious hum.) Yes, if done in excess for the sake of lowering the quality of the forums. Simply commenting on an old thread is not a punishable offense. That is why it is difficult to discipline the few rotten vegetables. It may not be punishable, but I'm saying it shouldn't be possible. Older threads should be archived like how they used to be. I don't think anybody would be missing anything by not being able to bump threads which haven't been touched in 3-6 months. One could just make a new thread with a link to the older one(s). In the while since the update, I have seen necrobumping be used to annoy or troll far more often than seeing it be used to further conversation
