Friendship/Girl Trouble, Help Flood?!

I'm in a shitty situation: I have romantic feelings for my best friend. Which would be great, if she weren't already in a relationship and that I really don't want these feelings. The obvious solution would be to stay away, but just the other day she struggled with words, saying how I make her feel "alive", and how much she appreciates me and how I make her feel wanted. She sees me as more than a casual friend, but less than a lover. "Friend love" as she worded it. And that's totally fine. She's one of the greatest friends I've had, and I want it to stay that way. But the heart is stupid, and she's always on my mind. I want to stay her best friend and just be happy with that. So what can I do? I don't want to just leave her, she's probably the best friend I have right now, and she's told me I'm one of the greatest things to happen to her in years. I just want my internal struggle to stop and be happy without a nagging feeling every time she talks about her boyfriend. I'm absolutely terrified of bringing it up to her to just talk about it, because I don't want the awkwardness or making it seem like I'm giving her an ultimatum of some sort. I just want the feelings to go away, and stay platonic. But as of now, it's just eating away at me on a daily basis. So I want to see what the Flood has to say on this. inb4 surprise buttsecks inb4 op cant inb4

  • You gonna die one day. That's for sure. What you choose to regret or fear is, however, up to you.

  • If I were in that position (of your friend) I would rather you tell me and get it out in the open because obviously you're struggling with feelings for her. Yeah she has a boyfriend, but telling her how you feel may open some doors for you in the future (or close them). Just tell her how you feel and if you guys are meant to be it'll happen :)

    • Wait for her to break up with her current boyfriend (It'll happen, don't worry) then swoop in for the attack. Like a falcon... or a hawk... or an eagle...

      • Either she WANTS you to make a move on her through mixed messaging.. or You need to ask her if you can tell her anything, because you two are great friends.. No matter how odd or weird it maybe? OR you can suck it up and be like.. "We love each other like bros and hoes do"

Alrighty I can tell you how to mess up entirely out of experience...-blam!- I just saw that bitch today and she was chasing after me, it scared me. Anyway... Well, there is the player option, risky, but if it works, it really -blam!-ing works. You tell her your feelings and if she doesn't feel the same way, ignore her and separate entirely. If she truly was your friend and is worthy of being in a relationship with you, she'll come to you. That or....never mind the other hand of that one. (Don't do this one!) Then there is the obvious just tell her your feelings. If she doesn't see you the same way, just respect that and if she is really a great friend, she'll stop talking about other guys and you two can remain friends. Honestly though, tell me what you are thinking of doing because I've been in this situation.
Friendzone/girl trouble
Fixed. In all seriousness, though, just tell her how you feel, that's what I did my freshman year with my best friend. Edit: And if that doesn't work, jump kick the boyfriend and prove you're better.

          • You should be best friends with your spouse. Soooo If you're truly best friends... You should let her know how you feel, and ask her out, even though she has a boyfriend.
