We will see, I was just talking about other monster movies, this one of course can definitely be different. I understand why those movies do it though.

Accuracy provides cohesiveness to the plot. Pacific Rim has to be a big offender for that. What bugs me the most about that is how giant swords can kill the monsters but missiles can't. Why not just make sword missiles instead of giant robots?

That too. Then however, it begs the question for if Humanity would have even survived, because without the technological path taken, the mind meld would have never been developed, and the Kaiju would have continually kept coming at exponentially higher rates.
