I think that is closed beta. Preorder invites are going to start trickling out if I had to guess mid May or early June. But this is just speculation :/

Edited by Joviaan: 5/1/2014 8:53:04 AMI think it'll be more mid-June/early-July because bungie is bringing Destiny to E3, and why have people play it there and showcase the competitive play if the beta will already be out?

Because beta isn't for showing how well the multiplayer is, it's for stress-testing the game's servers. Which is why bungie has made it priority one that anyone and everyone plays this beta so that when 09.09.14 gets here we don't have another bf4/d3 issue.

By the multiplayer comment, I was reffering to E3, not the beta. And I agree with what you're saying. BUT, technically Summer doesn't start until June 21st. Knowing how well Bungie is with details, why say Summer over and over if it is really Spring? And, like I was trying to say before, why show the competitive multiplayer at E3 if people are already playing it?

I would say it's more for the shareholders than anything. E3 has always been a business conference and allot of people think that it's for fans since allot of games are announced there (and it's become more fan available but sill focused on a show for the shareholders). But I still think it'll be late May or early June. We don't know how long the beta will be and if bungie's history tells us anything with halo reach, the beta will only last a few weeks maybe a month. But it's a whole new dev team and brand new producers. My point is that with a month long beta they would have just enough time to get it out before e3 and take it away right before that show more awesome things about it, making us want it more. But again, just speculation :)

I guess I can kinda see your way... I'm still gonna stick with my theory, but I do hope you are right and we will be able to dive in sooner =)
