There is no justification for a Without Cause Termination for a 10+ year employee

If an employee has been working for the company for over ten years, firing them for no reason is a total crock of shit. There is no justification for it, you must have had a reason to fire Marty, it does not make sense to fire your musical bread and butter for no reason. Maybe he made a joke about Achronos, maybe he he wasn't being PC in front of DeeJ, who knows. But you're going to have to come up with a better excuse other than "You're fired because we said so".

  • All the speculation and outcry I've been reading about this situation is a bunch of nonsense. We've been given little to no information pertaining to Marty's "termination" from the company nor is it very likely we will unless it somehow leaks out from an inside source close to either the company or Marty. But if we're all going to speculate, I'll do so with you. This could have all simply happened because at this time the board of directors no longer feel that they require Marty's services. In the past Bungie has been a rapid fire of development and release with Halo. Each game required Marty to produce a new feel through his music, which required him to stick around pretty much securing him a job until the last game. Now Destiny is on the horizon and judging by the type of game it is, it's reasonable that the way it's supported will be more through content such as weapons, armor, and such... leaving basically not much for Marty to be doing. He'd more or less be earning a paycheck by sitting around in his Ivory Tower doing next to nothing. So instead the board of directors chose to terminate his position until a time where they will need another composer. tl;dr verson: Most likely Bungie has no need for a composer for the foreseeable future as Destiny goes gold, having nothing for Marty to do, the board of directors chose to terminate his position rather than have him earn a paycheck for doing nothing. It's sad, but this is simply business.
