I've personally had nothing but issues with amd cpu's in recent years, I'd recommend sticking to Intel. The cost is significantly more, but they're reliable. That being said, my budget pc with an amd is fantastic between crashes.

  • By all means give it a shot, I know several people that have had amd's work beautifully with no complaints and some extra cash to put towards the rest of the build, but there are definitely more amd issues than Intel issues that I've encountered personally. Basically, ask about the warranty.

  • I completely understand. In my experience with intel processors ive had nothing but crashes and issues :/ a warranty would be great. Ill look into that. Other than the qualms over amd, how does my build look?

  • It's a solid build for sure, only thing I would personally add would be an ssd for the operating system. I've done it on my last few builds and thought nothing of it until I used a friend's computer and sat there waiting for it to boot and realised how long it had been since I'd waited for my computer to do something. Ssd's, they're amazing. Only problem is price, and the only place to cut from your build is the graphics card, which I doubt you would want to do.

  • Nooo thank you. Ill keep the high end graphics :) I was told the gtx 760 is pretty damn good. So I'm going to get it. And what is ssd? I'm not entirely pc lingo inclined lol

  • It is a solid state drive, basically a hard drive with insanely fast read and write speeds. Things go fast, my computer boots in about 2 seconds. I love it.

  • Holy crap o.o that's insane. How much would an ssd cost?

  • It varies quite a bit, depending on size, brand, and read/write speeds, but generally start around $100 and go up. Also yes, the 760 is great card, I had a 660 before upgrading to my 770, and I put 760's in the machines I built for 2 friends.

  • Awesome! The boot up time really doesnt bother me all too much. I just want to be able to play my games in good quality and have a decent machine to withstand the load of higher gameplay!
