The T or M rating debate hardly makes any sense now. Because bungie is making a game we want to play, not your theory. But gore and a lot of blood isn't in bungie nature. But most of us prefer a T rating anyway. So do I

I'd like to point out that games don't need to swear have people explode into gore to be good why can't the game be T

Its going to be rated t. Look at the bottom right corner of this pic http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductScreenshots.aspx?image=2&Product_ID=115475

It could get M still for alcohol, blood could still be a part but nothing over the top, language
-
Some children after to relentlessly persuade their parents into purchasing M rated games, with the game being rated T it would be easier. However, I personally don't care, I AM A MAN and I will purchase the games that I desire no matter the rating. No matter the amount of language and gore! Don't you agree?

Edited by H0RSE: 4/8/2014 6:20:44 PMThe T or M also doesn't matter, because many players act like children regardless of their age. The really sad part, is that many of them blame the ofendee for being offended, rather than themselves for being offensives. One of the most ironic statements that people give to those that appreciate this type of behavior is "grow up." Who exactly is the one that needs to grow up?

1 ReplyT or M? mmmmh.... I'm betting on PEGI 16 plus 'violence' and 'online game' labels. http://www.pegi.info/en/index/

It matters to the share holders and bean counters. A rated "M" audience is significantly smaller than a "T". Like movies, generally PG13 movies tend to do better at the box office than "R" rated ones...most of the time.
-
Aiming for a specific rating only limits what they can do. People should just accept this. It's anticipated to be M, and if little kid's parents won't let them play the game, then they'll just have to deal with that.

Edited by Skeloton: 4/8/2014 5:07:39 PMEither way bad parents are going to allow their children to play these sorts of things regardless of ratings. I mean my 9yr old sis has a friend of the same age playing GTA5 but I wont allow my sis to go near it (though that's because she destroys all she touches :P ). But with M we a least get something more tuned to the older lot (older being like 16+)

Yea, its true. Besides, even if it gets a m rating, kids are still gonna get their hands on Destiny one way or another. And since that will most certainly be the case, Bungie should just aim for a t rating. Besides, I expect this game to be heavily community oriented so if we find ourselves overrun by 13 year olds cussing at the top of their lungs, it'll be mostly our fault for being bad examples and not reprimanding newcomers' unwelcomed behaviors. That being said, I hope there will be some kind of systematical method for reprimanding those kind of behaviors as a community. Without enforcement nor positive reinforcement, there won't be much we can do against the chaos.

The only problem I'd have with a T rating is it could possibly limit what Bungie can do. With a M rating the only rating above that is A and I'm pretty sure it won't get that. If its M however they have less limits confined by the T rating. But in one of the trailers for Destiny it said its expected to be rated M so we'll wait and see.
-
9 RepliesI believe the ONLY reason the ESRB thinks Destiny will be M is because of Bungie's past games, especially Halo 2.
-
"T" is restrictive to developers, if Bungie is going to put in everything they want an in that case it will most likely be rated "M"...
-
If it is rated mature, then bungie has less limits to work around.
-
Oh and T is losing now by 8% ding it.
-
You can only hear people in your fire team. Mute button, no team killing yay. And I kinda am starting to hate M games because there are much more popular and are growing in numbers then the other three ratings. Sure infamous second son outsold Titanfall but M still gets the spotlight. And bungie I beg of you do your stuff and in destiny a lot of fun stuff is going to go down T or M

6 RepliesWell now there just Ninja Turtles :(

3 RepliesEdited by Tagonyst: 4/7/2014 3:03:50 PMMost of us do not prefer a T rating. Yes bungie is making a game that most of us want to play, but they are also making a game the vast majority of mature gamers don't want to play with immature teenagers.
-
2 RepliesI don't prefer a T, where do you get your info saying the majority wants otherwise?
-
1 ReplyI actually would prefer an "M" rating because if it was "T" then it would attract more younger, annoying players.

1 ReplyIt's gon' be M.

Blood and gore isn't the only way to get an M rating, plus you can't realistically say "most of us" want a T rating. Please refrain from making arrogant and ignorant posts please.
