Why do so many christians have such a huge victim complex? I have never fully understood it, even when I was one.
English
-
Because there are complete assholes, like Dustin, that find pleasure in antagonizing religious people for no reason what-so-ever
-
The bloody persecution by the Romans didn't help either.
-
They deserved it. In Rome there were literally tens of thousands of religions, 99.9% of which tolerated and respected each other, the Romans only condition was that they had to pay tribute to the emperor. The 0.01% was christianity, it was and still is a cult, shunning all other religions and encouraging people to force christianity on others
-
That was literally millennia ago, and they followed it up by adopting Christianity. Even then most persecution christians think of didn't even happen, that was propaganda.
-
Your point? A lot of Christians did die because of the persecution, but the later adoption of Christianity by the Emperor doesn't nullify the deaths that happened.
Even then most persecution christians think of didn't even happen, that was propaganda.
What was propaganda?
Your point? A lot of Christians did die because of the persecution, but the later adoption of Christianity by the Emperor doesn't nullify the deaths that happened.
The whole point of christianity that you are forgiven once you convert.
-
It still happened. Sure, they're forgiven, but that doesn't mean everyone forgets it happened and just moves on.
-
Okay, so I won't forget about the Crusades, or the oppression of Jews in medieval Europe, or the oppression of gays and religious minorities in the South, or the oppression of christians by other christian sects. If we're talking groups oppressed by others, the Christians are not innocent, and their stuff is a lot more current than the Romans.
-
Irrelevant. You asked why some of them feel like they're victims, prominent examples were given. This isn't about the crusades or the generally stupid things that came about from corrupt Christian organizations.
