Reblue the metal Give the bolt a nice shine Refinish the stock Add a reproduction PU scope Just a simple restoration really. Don't sand it too much and use citristrip to remove the old finish. It's not harmful like the other strippers out there plus it smells like oranges! If you want a dark reddish color like this then I would say to pick up a can of MinWax Sedona Red 222 and MinWax polyurethane as a way to protect the stain and give it a glossy feel and look I do wish I didn't refinish my stock. Yeah it looks pretty good but it doesn't have that rugged look like how it should. Probably going to get a monte carlo stock for it or just purchase an original stock off of ebay

 • When you say to reblue the metal, which portions of it are you referring to?

 • Rebluing all the metal would allow a more uniform look IMO

 • Ugh. I can just imagine the smell of that stuff. The blue remover reacting with the existing blue on a gun makes one of the worst chemical odors I have ever had the misfortune of inhaling. That paired up with having to work on it for hours makes it a complete turn off. Makes it seem like it's not worth it.
