If 343 wants to make a CoD clone, they should go all the way, and do it right.
How do they do this you ask? Well, for starters, don't ruin the main line of Halo games. Instead, use the sub-franchise that will actually WORK: ODST.
That's right, use the ODST model like no shields and lower kill times to their advantage. Implement aim-down sights, weapon modifications, and all the other bullshit that Halo 4 laughably had.
I'm talking about a FULL-BLOWN clone. Kill that shitty franchise CoD already, and do it right. Can you imagine how good a Halo-style CoD would be? Again, I'm talking implementing a clone of the damn ranking system, custom classes and all!
The best part is, it would be console exclusive, so M$ would make truck-loads of cash, and have a much bigger userbase for Xbox Done than they ever could have imagined. 343i would also be able to accomplish their dream of making a Halo CoD clone without looking like complete fools and shitting on the game the fans know and love. Again, best part is, it would kill CoD since M$ wouldn't have a problem with actually INVESTING MONEY into the game, unlike Activi$ion who puts 10x more shekels into their marketing than the actual game design. It's a win win win!
All that would have to be created is a dedicated sector within 343i to focus on this ODST "modern shooter" game, while everyone else focuses on the real AAA Halo title with no gimmicky bullshit. After the first release, they really don't have to innovate on too much to stay popular, and that goes for any successful shooter, not just CoD.
How come this hasn't been thought of before? How could anybody not like such a great idea, so long as it doesn't affect the main line of Halo games with Chief?
Give me one reason why this is a bad idea.
