Well, only if there's something I really want (and I really give a shit about the game).
Examples:
I bought the Halo map packs (all of them...), except for Halol 4.
I bought some Gold and one of the Founder's Packs for World of Tanks: 360 Edition
I've purchased Car Packs for Forza 5.
What I don't do is purchase things like in the shop for Ascend: Hand of Khul or WoW, where you're purchasing a single item. With the Gold and the Founder's Pack for WoT, I got a shitload of stuff with it, therefore it was well worth it. But paying the same price (about $30 USD) for a single sword or other item doesn't make any sense to me.
