That's pretty screwed up. He was coming clean and doing the right thing. I could understand if he tried to drink it, or if he tried to give it away. But he was going out of his way to do the right thing. This is why automatic punishments are a bad thing.

  • Agreed. Besides, there's no reason why this didn't need to remain between the student, principal, and the teacher. It's not like they need to announce that they bent the rules for him to the entire school. I understand it's a zero tolerance policy, but I don't believe the administration can't act of it's own discretion. Plus, considering the way the student tried to handle the situation, I'm guessing he isn't the kind of kid that gets sent to the office every day. This all should have gone in his favour.
