Wouldn't all koalas that exist also be space koalas? I mean, they all exist in space right? A non-spatial koala would then be something really amazing.

No, some may exist in stars, which are called Sun Koalas. They are a little nicer and have a... Sunny disposition about life.

All things existing on 3 dimensions, regardless of their placement within or outside of a planetary atmosphere are in fact still in space. Thus the common colloquial "outer space" is a complete misnomer. All things that exist do in fact exist within space. The line between things in or outside of our atmosphere is completely arbitrary. I can't comment on the Sun Koalas thing though. They sound like good koalas. Contrasted to that damnable neutron star koalas. What irrational assholes those things are depending on your axial alignment within their progenitor star poles.
