A person being put to death for a crime they didn't commit is completely unacceptable. It's a colossal failure when that happens, because the system is killing the very people it's supposed to protect. The possibility of that happening should not be tolerated at all.

If someone admits to killing people? Like the guy in Norway that killed 55 peoples, are you ok with putting him to death?

Good point. What if there is absolutely no doubt that the person is guilty? - Der

One of the arguments I've seen made by death penalty opponents on this forum is that somehow execution is preferable to life in prison for the convicted individual, since they don't have to suffer in prison for life. If serving life in prison is worse than execution, then shouldn't we executed them just in case they are innocent? - Der

Edited by Hawk: 2/23/2014 6:59:59 PMNo, because if they're found innocent they'd just be released from prison. If you execute them you can't bring them back to life.

But what if they aren't found innocent. Could you live with yourself if you sent someone to a fate worse than death just on the off chance that some small number may be found innocent and cleared?? - Der

But what if they've gone incoherent?
