It's still on your driving record, so your insurance company can see it. As a driver, you are legally responsible for the safety of the passengers in your vehicle.
Not trying to sound preachy, but I prefer not to stick my neck out over something as simple as "buckle up".
You should anyway. I take driving seriously and my passengers life's very seriously. If you're in my car you wear your belt. Take responsibility for their life's. Seriously driving is serious business and you can control if someone lives or dies.
